  1. Hate to ask the obvious, but have you actually got any text in the log section of the notes for that cache on the computer you are having the problem with? I hate to respond with the obvious but yes! As it turned out I had a corrupt database as when I went to look at one of my own caches, it was showing me the first part of my cache and logs from someone elses cache! I therefore restored from the automatic backup and it now works fine. (it wasn't obvious from this particular cache that there was a problem in the database.) Sorry about that.
  2. i'm fairly interested although i'll have to check with the other half. I'm also about to release a night-only cache in the congleton/sandbach area as soon as I can find a wood suitable. so any volunteers for mine would be appreciated too.
  3. For some weird reason I'm unable to use the new log feature to log a cache for GCMNFB I think the reason is that the hyphen in the name has got translated to a square in gsak and it then fails when you try to log. It opens the log page but nothing is in the clipboard. I can confirm it works ok with other caches though including ones with hyphens in the name such as gcjn8x ok to really confuse things i've just tried on another machine and it works ok - shrug.
  4. if a cache isn't claimed and its near me and its the weekend and the wife isn't working then I'll be getting up early to find it (or go out late at night). If its a monday or tuesday then I won't even bother as I know ARRKS will be on their way before me.
  5. hehe - i know which cache that one is Drop me a pm if you really get stuck....
  6. I know how you feel - I've just come back from checking some of my caches and two of them have gone missing. I haven't dared check the others yet
  7. the 2nd to last cache I placed was members only - it was interesting to see who was looking at the cache, apart from that as a setter it didn't give me any advantages and limits the number of people who can find my cache (and most of the cachers near me are members anyway)
  8. i scanned mine in (a micro sheet so it didn't take long) and uploaded it as a gallery item to the cache.
  9. i was really pleased that last year i didn't suffer too much - especially during the alchemy quest day. I can't remember what tablets i took but they were fantastic - as is the injection if you insist to your dr that you have it.
  10. congrats from me too - thats another one to slow deego down :-)
  11. yeah, but the big red fire engine in the background also adds a bit more credibility to your hunting :-)
  12. I would say that you are not talking about geocaching in the office enough...although it is a slippery slope once you get started.
  13. or a list of caches that you are stuck on....or a list of final caches in a series (hint) or a list of muddy caches...no wait there is a limit of 100 caches per list.
  14. congrats from me too - thats a nice milestone to have but not for too long.
  15. also try waypoint workbench at http://www.sheps.clara.net/WW.htm that can take a gpx file and give you all the coordinates mentioned in the descriptions and logs.
  16. another idea, that i've implemented is a list of the bonus caches that often appear at the end of a series. Useful to see series of caches and also when someone completes a whole series and also to get an idea for cache series of my own.
  17. dont forget the bookmarks. I think you could probably change the colours with a custom style sheet but i dont have the time to look at that in much detail right now. I'm creating a bookmark list of all caches that are the end caches of a series, ie alchemy gold, polaris etc. Cache list is at this address and I'm open for cache numbers to add to the list - i'm slowly working my way through gsak but chocolate brownies are calling me from the kitchen. Edit The list is now complete (i think) so any corrections please pm them to me
  18. gasp - arrks being beaten to a cache AND by a newbie?
  19. well stoke seem to be book anyone they can for any dubious reason so I guess they are used to letting people off.
  20. the ones in hyde park are locked, or at least that is what they claim. There are also fences around the park so you may not be able to do them. However I do think the definition of dark was about 7.45pm just before christmas. There are noticeboards to check the closing time at most entrances.
  21. this'll be something like bbcode so things like [smile] get substituted for a smiley face etc. I'm guessing the [blue] does the same thing.
