  1. Yep, thats a bug in the "NOT during" all right. Can't believe no one has picked this up before now probably because the option was hidden :-) I can confirm it works and with the option of "available", "updated not during last 3 months" and "last log not during last 3 months" I've got a query showing me all likely caches that are either really difficult or archived. Then click on the online listing within the split view and then a toggle archive status, the cache disappears from the query and my database is updated with current caches. Thanks clyde....now to trawl through the 149 likely candidates.
  2. ok - now i've fiddled with some more and the last log NOT duringby doesn't seem to work - the DURINGby works, but not the not. last log during 5 days shows all logs since the 11/12. however selecting NOT during, would have given me UP to the 11th? instead i just get 11-15 I want to use this as a primitive feature to work out which caches are likely to have been archived
  3. As requested, this feature was added back in 4.2.0 Take a look at the "During" and "Not During" options. doh! didn't use the drop down box. Clyde - thats amazing. thanks....
  4. yes - gpxsonar reads in your pocket queries that you have created (as a premium member) and then generates the html pages on the fly. Just create a pocket query, download the gpx file, (don't use loc format) and sync the file across. Install gpxsonar, run it, open the gpx file and off you go...... if you are running pocketpc2003 then the latest version of gpxsonar will work.
  5. i got a pair of gaiters too (paid £10 for them!) and they weren't breathable either. Although i didnt find the trousers got soaked, i did find the inside lining of the gaiters had droplets on it - ewwww
  6. even better than before clyde - thanks! Any chance of the date filters having the option of -7 (as previously requested so that i can see all caches logged in the past 7 days for example? Also, any chance of the default button being "ok" in the dialog box that pops up when you drag and drop a file into gsak? That means i can drag the file and then just hit return, rather than having to move my mouse to the ok box.
  7. Look for an older version of gpxsonar - the most recent ones only support pocketpc2003 but the older ones work on any pocketpc - i'm running it on the original axim.
  8. as mentioned in an email to arrks and myself, there is a problem with gpxsonar in that if the cache page uses images for the page itself (not spoilers) then gpxsonar doesn't have them (as they are not contained within the gpx). Thats the only drawback i've discovered so far. I briefly tried using wget to grab the images off the page from a gpx but didn't get a chance to get it working properly though.
  9. reading his logs, it was obvious that he was enjoying the new hobby - his last words were "this is fun" My condolences and prayers for his family.
  10. have you given it the 3 fingered salute?
  11. mine does that occasionally too - but after 20 or more reallllly loooooonnnnnnnng minutes it eventually decides it has found some sats afterall. No idea why it does it, but it tends to occur just as it gets a 3d lock then the satellites disappear off the screen but the bar graphs remain.
  12. the big bad "they" don't ship internationally or to postboxes.
  13. there's some stats at http://grand_high_pobah.home.comcast.net/ which ranks everyone who's found over 200 caches..... Currently I'm 3407th in the list of active cachers and seasider is *only* 194th
  14. what extra trouble to send overseas? you just stick it in the same envelope as all the others. I am thinking of getting some sent to my parents-in-law's house and then getting them sent from there in the meantime (or even pick up if I get over there at christmas time). I'd probably want more than one though :-)
  15. thats a new one on me Bill - Arrks will probably have seen this by now but if not i'll mention it to him. you might want to send them your gpx file for testing.
  16. as long as i'm still in the country, I'm up for it - Saturday is best for me too.
  17. Seeing as though the calendars have finally been released, i'm amazed to see that you don't ship overseas and refer us instead to international distributors. However the UK, Belgium, Swiss, German and Danish sites do not have the calendar (or antenna balls) available so just how are we meant to buy them?
  18. you could always use a laptop cooler....I wonder if they would sell more or less if they called it a knee cooler (thanks to Alibags's suggestion) On a more serious note, if i use my laptop without the cooler, at the end of the day the underside of my wooden desk is rather warm to the touch.
  19. well hopefully not too many people download it and swamp my bandwidth :-) Stuey, clear out your temp directory and also the contents of %temp% and %tmp%. Sounds like you might have some old setup.exe files on your system. If you click start, run and then type in %temp% (WITH the % signs) then it will load up whatever your temp directory is. Then select everything and delete it. YOu will often find that you need to select everything that isn't todays date (to avoid temporary files currently in use).
  20. I'm looking for a 6'long ammocan big enough to hide Marc in :-)
  21. i'm looking for some too - i'm about to place an order for 11 ammo cans tomorrow (on behalf of myself and local cachers) but would appreciate a source for fusetins too (or ammo cans if cheaper than the surplusandoutdoor ones)
  22. aha - the truth is out (there) - seasider gets to all these caches by ufo!
  23. works too - i renewed mine yesterday seeing as though the dollar rate is so high and it was a christmas pressie
  24. still, a polite "please keep to the path" is better than being chased by a tractor as happened to me :-)
  25. none of them do the geocaching calendar though and you can't buy it from the us shop either :-(
