  1. Yes, the problem is with the Profile Details section. Thank you.
  2. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I just tried to update my user profile, and the changes I made will not save.
  3. Hi, I'm not as active with Waymarking as I used to be, but I just noticed a new category titled Free Splash Pads in the grid. I don't recall seeing it up for a vote, but I notice that no one has posted a waymark in it as of yet. Is this truly a newly approved category or is it a glitch? Anyone know?
  4. Bruce will be dearly missed. He was such a guiding force in Waymarking and a true inspiration to me in many ways. I met him back in 2008 when he was in Jacksonville, Florida, on business, and he reached out to see if we could meet while he was in town. Here's a post from my Waymarking blog about our meeting: http://wackyforwaymarking.blogspot.com/2008/08/bruces-comes-to-jacksonville-wednesday.html . My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Sandy
  5. Well done! Thanks for the great photo array of dovecotes in many different countries and a clear description of what will and won't be accepted.
  6. Congrats on reaching 10,000, Metro2! As we've discussed before, my husband and I feel like we're following you around the world. Every time we go somewhere, we discover you've been there within the past year or so. Maybe we'll actually sync up and run into one another one day!
  7. Congratulations to Master Mariner (Charles) for reaching his 10,000th waymark a while back! Sorry I missed it, but thank you for all the quality waymarks you've posted over the years! :D
  8. Thanks! We know we'll never completely fill the grid, but it's fun to try! Especially when it takes us to great places we've always wanted to visit.
  9. Thanks, Andreas! We (especially me) have had so much fun Waymarking since November 18, 2007, when The Federation held a geocaching event to introduce geocachers in our area (Northeast Florida, USA) to Waymarking. As I drove home from the event, I started searching for waymarks instead of geocaches (which had been my original intent). Many thanks to Greg and Janet (The Federation) for introducing me to Waymarking!
  10. It took quite a bit of inventive googling, but I finally found a few of the Mercat Crosses that I spotted in Scotland listed on the Historic Scotland website. So at least they have a good category to be posted under!
  11. Yes, the distribution appears to be limited primarily to the UK, with "several" also in Canada and Australia according to Wikipedia and at least one in Ireland (http://archiseek.com/2009/old-cross-monaghan-co-monaghan/#.VAh8F2MgscY). Based on my limited research to date and only counting the historic Mercat/Market Crosses, it looks like there are at least 126 in Scotland, 86 in England, 2 in Wales, 1 in Ireland, and 1 in Australia (located in Buchan in Victoria, Australia). This totals 216 known historic Mercat/Market Crosses. This doesn't take into account more recent imitations of such crosses placed in the UK (simply because I wasn't sure how to search for them). Anyway, I agree the distribution is limited and the number of such crosses may not be sufficient for a category. However, if anyone has specific information on additional crosses of this type that aren't listed at Wikipedia, please feel free to share that information here. Thanks!
  12. While in Scotland recently, I spotted several Mercat Crosses but they don't appear to fit any existing categories. They do NOT fit under the Christian Crosses or Churchyard Crosses categories. There are also Market Crosses elsewhere in the U.K., as well as in Canada and Australia, at least some of which do not fit the Christian Crosses or Churchyard Crosses categories. Here's a description from Wikipedia: "A market cross, or in Scots, a mercat cross, is a structure used to mark a market square in market towns, originally from the distinctive tradition in Early Medieval Insular art of free-standing stone standing or high crosses, often elaborately carved, which goes back to the 7th century. Market crosses can be found in most market towns in Britain, with those in Scotland known as mercat crosses. British emigrants often installed such crosses in their new cities and several can be found in Canada and Australia." Several examples are shown at the two Wikipedia links below: Mercat Crosses in Scotland - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercat_cross Market Crosses in Great Britain - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_cross Any ideas where these Mercat/Market Crosses might fit if they don't meet the existing Cross categories? Any interest in a new category?
  13. Unfortunately I had backed up more than five times after losing the notes. The box for clearing the data base was NOT selected. That is one of the reasons I couldn't understand why it deleted the notes.
  14. I finally tried the My Finds Pocket query and when I imported it into GSAK all of our user notes were deleted. I didn't notice this until AFTER we had backed up the data base so we can't get the notes back. We use the notes a lot on puzzle caches, Virtuals and multis and now we have lost all that info. Did anyone else experience this using that particular PQ? Is there a setting in GSAK that would prevent it from happening again?
  15. Anyone care to guess what branch the Marine half of the Marine Biologist team served? 78-98 Cryptologic Linguist and Intel analyst. USMC OOOH RAH three tours in Gtmo, GW1, Panama, Grenada. Lots of other interesting places. May have been in Monterey at the same time Jeremy was there. What a small world. Just want to send a big thanks to all who served before, with and after me....and even more importantly to the Military Spouses. I feel they had the hardest job of all. At least we received training for what we had to do. Semper Fi
  16. Actually checking the not active only shows caches that are disabled. Once they are archived they do not show up in a PQ.
  17. Did some more research. I copied the GSAK database to my home PC (which also is running the lastest version of GSAK) and ran a mapsource map and all the special icons we set up appear. I double checked the GSAK settings on my laptop against the settings on the home PC and they are all identical. Deinstalled Mapsource on laptop and reinstalled with no better results. Deinstalled GSAK on my laptop then reinstalled. Still no joy. I think PDOP's is on the right track. If everything is working as desired on your desktop, do a GSAK backup on the desktop (File>Backup), making sure you have checked "Save GSAK Setttings". Then copy the back up files to your laptop and do a restore (File>Restore) from the back up files created on your desktop. (Note that you can tell GSAK where to put the back up and what to call it, and where to restore from in the appropriate dialogs). This should copy all of your relevant files and settings from the desktop to the laptop, which should cause GSAK to behave the same on the laptop (i.e. generate your custom icons). Good luck! Thanks a million. The Backup and restore worked.
