  1. Hey all, A non-geocaching question: Garmin Map76, MapSource (US Roads and Rec) I was at a B&B last weekend ran by a couple that has a lot of backwoods trails for tele-mark skiing. He borrowed my GPS and went out and saved a track and some waypoints while out on some of his trails, now I have them in my home PC using MapSource to bring them in. The goal is to provide an accurate trail map on good Topo map of the area. 1) I would like to plot these points on an accurate Ontario Topo Map, area north of the Soo. Any Canadian surveyors or the like that can lead me in the right direction to get good maps. 2) Can this be done electronically? Is there available accurate MapSource, or similar type mapping for this area that I can import the data to? Thanks, Captn Pea
  2. Three Cheers to Highfliers Check out the Cache on the Bayou log http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...4-EBFE14136954} My entry on December 9th, Theirs on January 1st ... Back in buisness now....
  3. I just did my first night solo, last night in tough terrain. Was dusk when I arrived, definatly dark when I was comming back out. I REALLY like the spooky side of following your track you used to come in to get back to the enterance. You must be careful, it even crossed my mind that a twisted ancle or knee etc... could leave you really stuck. I used a head lamp to light my way when the trail was eccencially no existant, but, keep it off once on a good trail.
  4. Better yet... Use a boat with no Island involved, a small bouy that is not a hinderance to navigation could work. Captn Pea
  5. Yo, Does mapquest or some other internet have a method of converting an address to a GPS location? Thanks, Captn Pea
