  1. I haven't been able to download any list for months. Fix this app, or at least comment on the issue.
  2. Glad they added new wonders but still haven't fixed this issue. Annoying they don't even come here to acknowledge it.
  3. They make mini pops that are perfect for this. I have one out right now.
  4. I would report the cache as 'Needs Maintenance' or if there are a long string of DNF and NM already then 'Needs Archived' would be applicable. No. You assume correctly. Then report the cache as needing maintenance. No. Not without the owners permission. And even then I personally wouldn't.
  5. I sign small logs as "OE" and I usually say so in my online log. There has never been an issue and I don't ever see it being one. If the hider has a small log I am sure they would understand. I know that doesn't answer your question. I am sorry.
  6. Yes, that is correct but there are thousands of puzzle caches that require you to do things that are not "typical" of geocaching. So I still don't see where the problem is.
  7. I'm not exactly a fan of Adventure Labs but I also don't see how it affects anyone who wishes to not participate. Adventure Labs do not appear on the Geocaching map so you can completely ignore it if you choose.
  8. It seems to work or not at complete randomness. Some days I cannot get it to work at all for any list of any size and other days I can download 10 lists in a row with no issue. It's annoying because sometimes I am trying to download a list for a remote area right before I leave and it holds me hostage at my house.
  9. Still doing it. Would be nice if Groundspeak would at least acknowledge the issue.
  10. Yep. I have tried on three different wifi connections and that doesn't seem to be the issue. It's really annoying.
  11. Almost every time to try to download a list for offline use it fails. I keep trying to download a single list over and over and it keeps failing. Sometimes a list will download quickly without issue and others just refuse to at all. Galaxy S9+ Android Version 10 App version 8.30.1
  12. I started in 2016. I followed the hobby for a long time before but didn't start until then. I downloaded the app to my phone one day while bored and found a single cache. I had the general idea. After the first one I went home and read every rule and tip I could. I always make sure I trade equal or greater. I pick up trash. And my logs are often a direct reflection of the cache. The better the experience the better the log. It is a bummer popping open a large container and seeing trash, food, or other inappropriate "swag" but it will always happen and there will never be a way to completely stop stuff from disappearing.
  13. The 66st is, in my opinion, the best GPS for Geocaching.
  14. The newest map update is horrible. You have to click "Search this Area" constantly. I like to just move freely around the map while caches load on their own.
  15. I have Garmin 64st. Has a good amount of space. I have done 10 PQs from 2000-2011 which was close to 10,000. Thank you so much noncentric for that link. That helps a TON! I love that website but had no idea they had that feature.
  16. Well thanks for the discussion. I am leaving for MWGB in a few hours. I am going to hit Michigan on Sunday on our way back. I'll let you know what I see.
  17. Is there any way to add more than 1000 caches at a time to Garmin? Right now all I can figure out is Creating a list which is strangely limited to 1000. Or PQs which can only be 1000 at a time. Is there something I am missing? Maybe a 3rd party way to, for example, add all caches from a certain state all at once?
  18. I have one hide an it is Premium Only. It took a good amount of time, effort, and money to put it together and it is a bit difficult. Just thought it a good idea.
  19. It's been 17 days since the NA and no Reviewer note has been made public. If I had to hazard a guess I think the reviewer is waiting till after the MWGB to take action. May be waiting to see if anyone else has an issue before marking this one as temporarily disabled?
  20. I'll be in the area so it won't be much out of the way. I have never been to Michigan. I will definitely keep an eye on it up to the point we go for it. I agree it is up to cache owners to respond to any and all NA's and NM's. I personally find it to be strange reason for a NA log but is the second time I have seen one before with the same reason.
  21. Also, I didn't realize they had recently logged in. The last time I checked it had been a while, so I wasn't sure if they were still around. I'm sorry if you read any thing as an attack, it definitely isn't my intent.
  22. I don't really have a question, just what are the thoughts on a NA for a cache that has been found but the person felt uneasy. Also, I am not attacking anyone, I wanted to know if this is generally accepted or not, I am relatively new so I am just trying to learn from people who have been around for a while. I tried looking for an awnser in the Help Center but couldn't find it, possibly my own user error but I tried.
  23. Hello everyone. I am prepping for my first MWGB and have been spending time planning an attack plan to do as much caching in the area as possible. I was told about the Oldie in Michigan not far away and noticed it has recently been marked as NM because the person who found it recently felt un-easy. I understand not wanting to get "in trouble" or being where you are not supposed to but it seems there hasn't been a problem. I scouted the area on Maps and it seems like it is open to public. Absence of 'No Trespassing" signs. I think it should stay up until after MWGB for two reasons; 1. So I can get it before its gone (selfish of course ) 2. Allow some other cachers to check on it rather than just Archiving an oldie because someone felt uneasy. I am not dismissing the validity of feeling uneasy about a cache. I have skipped some I didn't feel comfortable with but I never felt that warranted a NA log. There is also the question if the owner is or isn't around to check on it. I am a FIRM believer if the CO doesn't want to take care of it and doesn't hand it off to someone who does want it, it should be archived rather than being propped up by throw downs. I just wanted to hear the communities thought on it.
