You can buy 1/10,000 topo maps directly from MNR for $8.50 I think. MNR these maps can be ordered on-line, by mail or Pickedup in Peterborough.
The base maps are Paper, and the 1/250,000 maps are Tyvek around $18-&19.00
The consumer is the ultimate winner, after all if there is a marketshare someone somewhere will keep trying to improve on the system.
I am a newbie to this sport and find the advancements in GPS's over the years or even the monthly advancements to be incredible.
All I can tell you for now is that during a few night raids this week my Rino 120's pointer circled the cache as I circled the cache. Clear sky and great reception.
Have not been doing this for long, but so far it has been alone. My wife and daughter were going with me today but now it is to cold, so alone I will be.
Has anyone tried it yet and how do you like it?
I am looking for a Topo Program and this seems to be the newest and most updated system for Ontario. I would rather shell out $100 for a map system instead of $8-$15 each for a map................My hunting area alone because we border map edges on 3 side are going to cost $45.
Thanks in advance
