    Newbie

Welcome to the sport, it is not so addicting as some say........haha here comes another one...........Hey guys and gals "I see dead caches"
  2. That is all Grabette needs to here to turn her away from this. Hey Honey I have more GAS Truly this is a great game and I am loving it.
  3. Hi, My name is Cachengrab an I am a ummm, ummm, and I am...............I just cant do it, not yet anyways.
  4. Wonders never seize...... My last one was just approved tonight after 4 days. It is not my fault I erased my waypoints before submission or that I put it to cloose to another cache. What is this world coming to as if I am the one at fault...........lol Thanks Cache-Tech
  5. Can G.C. even turn it over, abandoned or not? The original owner still owns it whether or not they might be neglectful. I have seen the same thing here with the cache owner asking for the cache to be adopted. I have offered but they have never replied. Cache is here in Ontario and the owner is in New Brunswick. The part that gets me is that they advertised for someone to assume it.
  6. Oh no not expensive at all. Every cache is suppose to have at least one GPS. j/k Welcome to the addiction and have fun. Good trade items are easy to come up with really nice if you can make it a sig. item.
  7. Map with your Mapsource and route it, print map out. Download route to GPSr and off you go. I like the paper map since I can Manual compass with it if needed or if I change the route for my outing. The larger map lets you see detail that you might miss on your GPSr such as a cutoff road that could save you a few country road miles.
  8. Like how the garmin does it, I just save and go. How simple is that? Go off track so what I can join anywhere and not do a thing.
  9. Your reasoning is correct to the best of my knowledge. I think that you could run into a logistical problem by defaulting to "MMM" on that search for cacher's that have systems that will only go to "MM" Just my thought on this.
  10. Great looking staff there El Diablo, you are a lucky person Divne. ?El Diablo What kind of time is tied into one of your staffs?
  11. Well I am having a rough weekend here. I went and scouted a cache area on Fri. after work. Found and marked the 3 places for my Multi-Cache went home and figured it out on mapsource. (next day Saturday and 30 degrees below celcius)All okay and no interferance with other caches. Plant the cache(s) get home and submit. Note from approver.....Too close to existing cache lalalalalalala. Hmm must be a mistake plotted out the cache and shoot forgot to check the final position. Cache Tech right I am a dumb dumb. Liberal interpetation on my behalf not stated by approver. Ok I will go out tomorrow and move 3rd point to proper distance. Today I am out and I relocated the Cache ****note**** this cache is 25 miles from home . Just lovely looks good and secure, mark cache, note co-ords change tag at point 2 and proceed home. Go to submit listing and guess what happens next? Duh! hit me square between the eyes. I deleted my waypoints before I left the cahe area. I think I now am a new applicaint for this years Darwin Awards. So now tomorrow or the next day I will get in my car drive the 25 miles remark points 1,2,3 and submit my new cache.
  12. If it is like my Rino 120 you need to save the track. when that is done you now go to the track list hilite to select/ trackback/ to beginning or to the end whichever you are after.
  13. Well if that is all it takes I am a big boy who is responsible for my own action. I do not think that I need a mod to help me get labeled as an "A hole" I can accomomplish that on my own. So with that said. "I hope this thread is deleted or locked"
  14. Halden' s 4 digit accuracy is needed he lives in a government town and you know what kind of mess that can lead you to...............j/k........I think......... Actually I like It, how did you get down to 4 point, anything I have used or seen only goes to 3.
  15. Are you using the Quick Start Manual or the full version manual. I find that garmin's manual are fairly good on the whole.
  16. Just let me know what you need help with and I will do what I can. South Eastern Ontario (Quinte Area) Had a local Business Assoc. Rep. asking today if there was a way to setup a cache event for youths. Event is okay it is finding GPS'r to use. Do (we, you, someone) know of an orienteering group that might have access to a handful of used ones?
  17. Yes but how often did you mark it for cache placement averaging.
  18. 7)...OPAC - Ontario Provincial Association of Cachers 4)...FOG - Federation of Ontario Geocachers Just turn this one around for me. .......... OFG Ontario Federation of Geocachers I myself do not like the use of Recreational in the name.
  19. Sounds good to me I was holding off for Halden but he must have altered his trip a little. Just pick a time and post the co-ords. Ask that they (us) can confirm and or just show up. Confirmation would be nice.
  20. Post the co-ord or send via email to garykyteNOSPAM@kos.net and I will do it on mapsource for you.
  21. Just a reminder for those of us that received a pair of binos. for their Trek, we finally sent them our pic of our "FREE" binos in use. I guess it will give them more push power when it comes to dealing with the Tourist Assoc.
  22. Like the Yellow Pages of the phone books they are just letting thier fingers do the walking. Oh weeelll I think I will get another 40 caches done tonight(do dreams Count)
