  1. I have a Venture HC with 24MB, so I'm good. Since my older version of Mapsource works with the maps, is there any benefit/reason I want to upgrade the to newer version and use the patch? I'd like to keep the 1.4 version just in case I travel and only want to select a single county, since I don't have a huge amount of memory. Thanks again, I think this is a great thing you put together.
  2. I think it was b/c I downloaded the new version from Garmin. I unistalled and re-installed the version that came with my GPS. So, if I understand correctly, rather than select counties, I need to select the tile that contains my county; which is 10.0mb? Sound right? Thanks again, I appreciate your patience.
  3. Before reading that I tried to re-install Mapsource. Now I get an error saying: There is a problem with the Product TigerData Installation. Any ideas of what I messed up?
  4. Did the dowload, but now the areas it selects are huge; several counties instead of just the one I want.
  5. Trying the download again. Dialogue box indicates that its downloading 877MB.
  6. I wasnt watching it the whole time, but the dialogue box was up for about 35 minutes (showing the amount dowloaded/time, etc). The I get the box (I think its a Windows thing), saying the that the publisher cant be identified, blah, blah; do I trust it, I click run. After that, nothing happened. I believe in the 1.4 version, this was the point that I got the install wizard. I'll have to try it again tonight.
  7. Strange, but I clicked the link, then run, it was downloading for about 35 minutes or so, appeared to finish as the dialogue box closed, and then nothing happened after that. Do I need to un-install the old version first?
  8. Any update on a fix? Much appreciated. Thank you. -A
  9. I just got the ram mount Geo Climber has under #1. I have it on my mountain bike. General rule is that mountain bikes have a 1 inch bar. But measure twice, order once. Today was my first commute using that unit. Seems pretty solid, and I like how it surrounds the GPS. The plastic seems durable, question is how will it hold up over time, seeing that the two plastic pieces on top have to be pulled apart to get the unit in and out. Ultimate test would be trying it on the trails. I put a little bit of rubber under the U clamp for extra security. I got it from mountguys, though it was more expensive than gpscity; mountguys are located closer to me and had much better customer reviews.
  10. I'm not trying to bug, but just wondering if there is an ETA for a global fix. Take your time and I'm sure you have a life outside this; as well as you have already done an awesome thing here. I'm just curious as to when I should check back. Oh, and this thread should really be Stickied; not sure why it isnt. Thanks again!!! -A
  11. Amazon prices fluctuate all the time. What you can do is add it to your cart, and everytime you check your cart, you will be alerted if the item changed prices. So you can wait until it drops again. Depending on the item, the price can fluctuate fairly regularly. Also, Amazon has a 30 day price guarantee. They will refund the difference, if the price drops within 30 days after they ship you the item. To get the refund you have to tell them when the price drops. It is not an automatic thing on the part of Amazon. Again, an easy way to do this is to add the item back to your cart after you order and check back periodically to see if the price has dropped. You can even "Save the item for later", so you dont accidently move it to checkout.
  12. Thanks. I also noticed when I select a neighboring county that outlines correctly, it will turn pink; whereas my county doesnt change colors. So, the idea is to wait on a fix, correct? I would try to fix it myself, but I'm technologically deficient.
  13. I have a question. I downloaded the version from the first post and when I try to select my county (Fairfax, Virginia), it doesnt probably outline the county; instead it selects a square and says that its Fairfax. I havent tried to move it to my GPS, just b/c it doesnt look right. Is this the same as the bug that was noted earlier? Thanks for the help and the map.
