a bit on the pricey side even for a fund raiser. Sue

Thanks for dropping them off - they are great coins. Sue

I too hope the time is not that critical as we're in a different timezone so it all depends. Will give it a try though. At least I got an email so my plea for insanity can be dropped for now. Sue

IndianaDan .. your right .. that 76 has been abused beyond belief in the field and keeps on ticking ,, I am so annoyed I get a simple battery connector failed Good idea on the spring ... Also I normally use NiMH batteries and its got alkalines in it at the mo ... they are ever so slightly shorter
-
one of the springy bits on my 76 CSx battery clip has just broke off therefore batteries no longer make contact (as you look in the battery area it the top right contact) .. I can get it working (ish as in a knock / bang of the unit causes it to turn off) with a wad of silver foil stuffed in the area of the clip Has any one else had this .. I know its a send back to Garmin (UK) for repair .. any experience on how long and cost (its out of warranty) Thanks G

personally - I'm getting a little annoyed at being forced to buy sets to get the LE one. To have the only way to get any of the coins at all through buying a set I think is possibly what has limited these sales ?? Having said that I would have gone for a set anyway but would have probably bought some addional odd ones as trades. sue -
when do we get put out of our misery ??

I so prefer the 5 little birds than the single one. Great improvement - can't wait to see these. Sue -
I've traded more than I've bought - today - Sue

Nice design for a coin too. Sue

So, three questions 1.-Do you trade? Yes - it seems more of an acheivement than buying and have met some great coiners in the process. Looking through the trading lists usually ends up with adding more to our wish list 2.-Do you trade more than you buy? Find this difficult - need to buy for the collection and additional to trade, can't afford to buy more for trade than the collection. Even the trades you will have bought initially from somewhere?? same when we end up with our coin with in theory surplus to then use for trade, we will still have bought them in the first place at one level. Have been known to buy another one of the coins I already have so that I can trade it for one that is on my wishlist when I'e run out of the trades for that particular coin. I don't have any must have coins to trade one out for for coming in. 3.-Will you trade trackable for non-trackable or are you trading for the icon? Yes and have done - we don't activate coins in the collection, so tracking and I guess therefore the icon not that relevant. If no tracking number I'd like to see the coin numbered in some way. Having said that our own coin will be trackable and have an icon. Sue

Maybe you need to create a virtual cache out there (if they were still available) to log the coin. I can just imagine TPTB reviewing it Travel 22K miles straight up into geosynchronous orbit. Look behind you - which planet do you see :-) take a photo Special equipment needed - space shuttle or rocket Handicap access - yes once you have the special equipment Terrain - none Off-road vehicle - essential Scenic view - Yes Takes less than an hour - No or maybe the first real cache in the interntional space station. Wonder what any aliens finding it would think of our "coinage" :-) Sue

Torn here - I like to pay up front as there have been a number of reservations that all come in at the same time. Mind you my excuse is that I've reserved these so have to pay (so it's out of the budget scope). Then again in a bad week when the budget is blown anyway its nice to reserve and know the payment will be later. The pre-pay for some coins is way too long as it goes past the paypal get my money back grace period. I'm still waiting for a coin I paid for in April which is I think taking the pre-pay to the extreme. If I had to choose it would be a pre-pay at the point the final samples are known and the order is about to be placed. Sue

UPDATE/CLARIFICATION TO GUIDELINES

Mr Censor V land(S) of the really free Second life just killed all "forms" of "gambling" because of US LAW..... which of course is WW (world wide) law now G (not S) -
Oh no we had that idea based around our personal TB who carries a large X to mark the spot when a cache is found. This is taking way longer than anticipated as we are waiting to get our first coin our first before venuring onto the 2nd so we have not eve got started on this yet. I like the idea of pirates and dragons, with just the one tracking code unless the coin splits and each part can travel separately. Also the pirate riding a dragon carrying a compass - then you'll well and truly have it all sewn up. Sue personal TB

If each participant is in both the A and the B list doesn't is all work out in the end. and you at least end up with one different coin. Or 2 if after the first round you decide to keep it and send on another one that you already had. But your overall number of coins will have remained the same as it's like doing 2 trades or acting as a middle man for 1 ?? So 100 folks in the trade They pick a coin to send and send it to their A person - (who is also one of the participants) All A's get a coin - at this point everyone has sent one and received one. Now you have a choice to send on the coin you have just got, or keep it and pick another from your collection to send. All A's now send to their B name All B's get a coin so by now everyone will have sent and received 2 coins, even though one of the ones you sent was the first one you got as long as the B is not the originator to send to A and B decides to pass the coin on ie back to A otherwise it's all back to the beginning. Actually you could do this forever - 100 participants and you all get allocated a number, the first day of every month a new list is generated with a name against your number who is the person you need to send a coin to... I think Sue
-
I think I made out the word, it was then where to send the information - 3 possibilties that I've found came to mind so I picked 1 of them - knowing me probably the wrong one. So that's 3 international calls to discover I needed to send an email somewhere I have no idea of, to someone I don't know and even now not sure if I guessed the right one, asking for something I've only ever seen a blur of, and a number of them that I don't know how much it's going to be. hmmmm Sue

seems some of us need some 001 help - no idea where I've just sent a request :-) but at least I can say I tried and some poor person will now be looking at my email thinking what is she on Sue
