  1. we have the Piglet TB (who wants to meet Pooh) and are planning to take him to WDW in Florida - we then want to take him home back to 100 Acre Wood in the UK How can we get the North Carolina to Florida to UK mileage ?? Do we find a virtual in WDW and "drop him off" and "pick him up" or is there another way ???
  2. Thats one hell of a tall order If you do find a source of all the towns, you will then want all the road junctions, the maybe all the Telephone boxes, then maybe all the Kebab vans .... etc etc I Doubt a list of EVERY waypoint some one could POSSIBLY want could ever exist Try here for some of the larger lists http://www.swopnet.com/waypoints/
  3. If you have the tracks already in ExpertGPS can you not select one track/route and make it the active track and then right click on the other track and select "join route to active route " ????
  4. I think most Waypoint proggies allow you to import a jpg (or similar) of a map scan or a ariel photo, then "calibrate it" thus showing waypoints and tracks on a piccie I use GPSU from http://www.gpsu.co.uk/ If your waypoints and tracks are in the USA have a look at ExpertGPS from http://www.expertgps.com/ I just stumbled across this package and have to say this is a great piece of SW as it takes your waypoint and tracks and automatically puts them on either a tropological map or Ariel Photo map - downloading the jpg maps on the fly from a server The "downside" for us international users is that the "automatic download service" only covers the USA - I guess this is because of the US gov'ts open stance that maps and arial photos of America are open source and available to the public - all other govertments (it seems) see these things as a source of revenue
  5. GPS V and a Sony Clie T625 - No plans to UG but there again if Sony bring out a nice new Sexy Clie that will have to be got :-) No plans to chang ethe V's
  6. Bear in mind - Your registration of any mapsource product allows you to register it to TWO GPS units For instance I have a America base map GPS V with CitySelect North America and I have a European base map GPS V with a CitySelect Europe - I have registered both units on both mapsource products hence I can use any of the maps in either of the machines (and even mix and match if I needed to I guess you could sell it without SW but that would limit the price you could get as then some one else would have to get try and get a Mapsource CD (and code) to load on it - The NA CitySelect cannot be bought in the USA so any fellow Americans would be a bit stuffed unless they bought the CD in Europe - which is silly as the CitySelct NA CD in Europe is like 360 USD (ie a few 10's of USD less than a V Deluxe pack) I'd suggest registering the Mapsource on that V - if you dont like it buy the 60C and make that the second GPS registered on that Mapsource product - HOWEVER I dont know where you stand (legally with Garmin) on then selling the GPS V and the Mapsource CD ?? Garmin web site is not clear it says " We allow you to unlock up to two of your own PERSONAL units. Separate unlock codes are required for each unit, so you will need to complete the unlock process twice. We DO ALLOW transfer of data when you upgrade your unit. You may unlock up to two units with one coupon code." I highlighted the test - so note it implies (1) you must own both units and (2) you can UG a unit and get a new code ... note it does not say what happens with your old unit ... Any one else got a view ???
  7. My Garmin V can be WAAS enabled and I often see a D on the sat bars in the UK - You can tell your on WAAS (EGNOS) based on seeing a Satalite with a number > 32 The European EGNOS satellite is number 33 The Asian one is number 44 The USA one is number 35
  8. duhhh ... me a complete Brain fade ... I had changed an email config and Eudora was not collecting that account
  9. Is there a problem with it ?? - I have not received any of my Queries since late last week A request for a future "enhancement" - a generate now button.. Some times you want query sent to you now as your about to shoot out the door and go find some - not wanting to want to wait until the email gets sent
  10. Perhaps you should email them and ask them how a rrp of $482.13 U.S.D. translates to £489.00 bearing in mind that the pound is at £1.70 at the moment. Even allowing for shipping and other costs this is an enormous rip off. I can see a lot of these things coming in as grey imports. Alex. Garmin just seem to love scr*&ing us in the UK - I recently was looking to buy a Mapsource City Select North Americas for for Garmin V as I was going to the USA and needed the road routing - I was quoted a price of £226.78 to buy it in the UK I went to the USA and bought a BRAND NEW GPS V Deluxe with North America Base maps and all region unlock for 399 USD - approx 249 GBP... so for an "extra" 23 GBP I got a brand new Garmin V (with the US base maps), a power cord and Serial cable ......... So now have both European and US base map units, very flexible IMO - Garmin Europes pricing is unrealistic ....
