  1. Ours just came though about 30 mins ago 12:00 EST. Sue
  2. One of them will be one of ours then :-) this page provides information how to get to Hartfield and Pooh Corner, not exactly an easy place to get to on public transport. It's then about a 4 mile walk to the bridge. http://www.pooh-country.co.uk/ Strange we're from the UK currently in the US finding some caches in NC. Good luck Sue
  3. Pay attention to what he said TeamAv8r : a question for you which I hope you can answer... why do US airports insist on scanning a laptop thru the Xray separate to the PC bag... but I can have a PDA, GPS, Phone, Personal Media player, battery, chargers, camera and a bunch of other electronic bits and bods in a PC bag which they seem to be not interested in ..... whats the deal on the PC FWIW I got a explination of why they ask you to take your shoes off now ..... when they scan you with the personal metal detectors, when they get close to the floor (and therefore detect old mother earth) they go off any way.. so if you had shoes with "bits in" they would not known hence they ask you to take them off now so they get Xrayed ... now this makes sense to me ....... but WHY the PC scan and not the rest of the electronics in the bag
  4. I just got an email re beta 6.0.4 and its here http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=460
  5. In my experience - no problems - on both questions security and xray "damage" I travel every week thru out Europe and always carry a GPS, PDA, Blackberry, GSM phone, Archos AV320 Personal Media, External battery Power unit for Archos, Laptop PC (sometimes 2) and a Sony 717 digital camera I travel to and around the US about half a dozen times a year and again no problems. I do get a laugh out of the whole US security (and interestingly Germany now) take the laptop out the PC bag to go thru the Xray machine byitself but the GPS, PDA, Blackberry, GSM phone, Archos AV320, the Archos External battery Power, Camera and laptop power can all stay in the bag and never have been looked at ... Can some one explain that to me one day ??? Re using your GPS on the plane - some airlines allow it, some dont, there are numerous threads on which ones allow it and those who don't. They only work if held against the window and as such you soon get bored I'd advise if you do use it onboard and are asked to turn it off, just do it, smile apologise and dont argue, hostess dont need the hastle these days. A few years ago you could ask for Pilots Permission - IMO not worth it these days
  6. We have clocked up 12 miles twice - one around Ascot doing the Sunninghill batch and the other in central London. Like you we track while walking and switch off when in the car. Both of these were abandon the car at the beginning and pick it up at the end. Sue
  7. Just got it working with an Old Nokia 7210 I had lying around At least this proves its not my Vodafone GPRS account settings which are wrong - Vodafone keep changing my APN access rights
  8. Ahhh - now that I agree is wrong - IMVHO its someone getting their stats up
  9. A lot of people do this with Personal Travel Bugs. A TB they log into and out of each cache so that the TB history is their caching history. We do it with a TB we call tracker
  10. BUMP we passed 150 today Upwards and onwards to 200
  11. Can people post what Phone they get it working on ??? So far I have it working faultlessly on a TMobile Blackberry running 3.7.0.26 RIM software I have it loaded on a Sony Ericsson Z600 but it will not download the caches - it gets to 10% download and freezes - still working on it
  12. maybe exclude event caches :-) I've also added photos for caches after the logging and also for Travel bugs - again often days (ok I admit it weeks) after the initial logging. Logging a bunch of caches is the priority and then uploading images tends to be secondary. I usually then just drop a note to either the cache or travel owner to say I've uploaded images, maybe a box to tick to say and notify owner would be another option and maybe at the point when you have finished uploading multiple images ? here's another variation - when photos are of a travel bug being picked up from a cache - can the 2 photos be linked rather than uploading twice. Never sure where the best place is to log these - I usually associate these with the travel rather than the cache but then the cache owner may miss out on a piece of history. May need an associate with cache, or associate with travel option on upload ? Then do you mail the travel or cahce owner or both. Sorry :-) Sue (currently "having fun" with our own cache/travel tracking database MS Access and MySQL ) with xml imports from the geocaching gpx files (php) then exporting to memory map, gps export and cachemate (VBA) . Oh yes and then publishing viewing our own progress on the web page - http://www.skampsweb.net/skamp/geocache/geocache.php )
  13. Neat Will it ever be possible to do 1. Hide and seek a cache, get a bunch of caches listed 2. Do a select all (or select which ones you want) 3. Do a "download waypoints" BUT get them in GPX format ?? (not in LOC format) In reality like the pocket generator function but on demand ?? Premier Member only feature again ?

    Tb Rant

it helps if the TB has its goals with it - Now in this case I dont know if it had a goal sheet with it, so this post may be off If a TB has a goal sheet we always read it and if we can't help we dont take it. If a TB does not have a goal sheet and we know we will be caching again soon (like within a week to 10 days) we may take it home, print out the goal sheet and then release the TB again. If we don't think we will be out again soon we would leave it
  15. I like the new format, although agree the last found date for own caches was useful. The current inventory of TB's is a great idea as before the ones in hand were lost in amongst all you had ever come across. Sue
  16. Have you had a look at GPS TrackMaker It can be found here http://www.gpstm.com/ It has the ability to find Tracks that "overlap" each other and then be merged, also has the ability to join tracks that have similar end/start points
  17. Redoing caches is not a problem - just do its as a note not a find S&G
