  1. Hey Newbie here. By the way I lived in Tomah for 3 years from 2000-2003, miss the state. I have logged a DNF after really trying to find the cache. I did it to make a record of it in case others can not find it also, which might flag a concern it was muggled. If I go looking and the area is too populated for a search then I don't log it as a DNF. Just my 2 cents worth.
  2. Contacted the owner and asked if they didn't mind if their TB headed to MS, since I am going there this week. They were happy to see it moving regardless where. Thanks for all the info. It might take me a few times to learn the ins and outs.
  3. Thank you for the info. My goal was to try to find a place north of where I found it and close to the interstate to try and help get this TB moving again. I am traveling to MS. in the next couple of days but this is going in the wrong direction, or is the goal just to keep the thing moving? Remember the learning curve for this newbie.
  4. Thanks I will try Ebay. I know to buy it from Garmin would almost cost the same as the unit itself.
  5. Hey Folks, I am brand new to this adventure. I went and rescued a TB that has been sitting way out in the country. The problem is now finding a drop point. I see alot of micro caches that can not handle the size of a TB. Would it be wrong to place the TB in its own container and attach it to a micro and add instructions to move it forward? It seems like ammo can caches are kind of rare. I would hate to hang on to or return the TB back to that far away country spot. What about mailing them to another Geocacher who is willing to place it? Help me out please, I feel this resposibility has been placed on me. forgiven _redneck
  6. Hello Friends, My name is Mike aka Forgiven_Redneck. I learned about this wonderful hobby by reading about the geocache that was found and removed in Florence, AL. I went out today and bought a Garmin eTrexH and the fun has started. I made my first find and scouted out another location but to much traffic to be safe. I have learned that the data cable for my gps would be very helpful, but found it to be expensive. If anyone has one to sell please let me know. Also is the a group in the Deatur/Huntsville area? Well I hope to become active and have fun with this hobby. Forgiven_Redneck
