  1. Hi, I was checking one of my older geocaches (GCH7NR) and realized there is original logbook inside from year 2003. It is not very frequently visited geocache and the logbook is regular notebook. Is there any list or table of geocaches with oldest original logbooks? I would like to know if there are other similar logbooks. Thanks Marko
  2. I did periodic maintenance on my oldest cache http://coord.info/GCH7NR and realised it has the original logbook with all logs in it. How many times do you find the cache which is more than 10 years placed and has original logbook? It is hard to filter such caches automatically. It would be interesting if we could make a list of such caches. BR Marko
  3. Is there a cache with "raw" GPS signal, e.g. page1 to page3 binary navigation data with transition times and then user have to calculate the position ? http://lea.hamradio.si/~s53mv/navsats/theory.html
  4. Will be 10 years in november: http://coord.info/GCH7NR The ruins are colapsing, but the cache is there.
  5. I made "?" cache, where starting point is at the grave local novelist and the hint points to a sentence in one of his books, describing final location.
  6. OK, I am happy you like the idea. This is the old house: It's small and has no floors. It's not used for living since about 1980. It's last resident was old man. Some decades ago a family with 5 children lived in this house. Now only the roof is changed from straw-covered to tile. We were thinking to set back straw roof. Unfortunately old straw-roof experts are very rare and we will have to plant rye. House is almost empty at the moment. It's locked when nobody is around. People in the area are very generous. Same is with the house, which is open for anyone. We produce some wine (from own wine-yard) and anyone who passes by can taste it.... so there's no worry about miscreants Today I found old barrel and took it's cover out for plaque. The are where house is placed is wine growing region. I was thinking this cache can slightly avoid some rules and permit trading wine.... what do you think? When house is locked (noone around), trading will be around this barrel lid and old pot: Oh yes, the location (Slovenia-Europe): N45° 48.6288 E15° 17.4030 MarE
  7. What about old wooden house being used as a geocache "container"? I have over 250 years old wooden house which is not used for living anymore. It is placed in nice location and is good starting point for several hikes around. I would like to place a notice board to write logs and some shelving on house's outside walls for trading geocaching items.... What do you think? Is there any similar cache, where I can steal some ideas? MarE
  8. My Idea is to place 10 caches: one in each country. Each participant (one from each country) will place something from all 9 other countries. So, what you have to do? 1. Get 10 country specific items 2. send 9 items to 9 other participants in 9 other countries (including yours == 10) 3. prepare geocache on your own and wait for 9 items from other countries when you receive 9 items from other participants, you place the geocache. Everyone send items to each other (9 letters) and then we set 10 caches in 10 countries. Each cache will have similar name, like "NEW EU" - CZ, "NEW EU" - SK, "NEW EU" - SLO etc... All other rules are general geocaching rules. MarE
  9. I am looking for geocachers from following countries (in random order): 1.Cyprus 2.The Czech Republic 3. Estonia 4. Latvia 5. Lithuania 6. Malta 7. Hungary 8. Poland 9. Slovakia I would like that we set 10 geocaches. I need 10 geocachers to contact me. We will exchange cache-note in English and translate it to our local language and then place it in GCs around Erope. Each one will set own locacl cache, but all 10 will be special multi-cache. I would like to exchange something typical/representative from my country with all 9 others and also receive 9 gifts from other 9 geocachers. Then we will place "pan-EU" geocache. So, let's strat! You can also contact me by e-mail. MarE
  10. OK, thank you! I will then put http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?ID=85 into http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=105922 as FTF prize. M.
  11. I pich TB and I have some geocaches. I would like to place TB in my GC. Is this "ethical" ? M.
  12. Thank you for all good and useful suggestions. I think placing a multi with bonus cache would be worthy. I remember one winter night with fresh powder. It was "fat" moon. That's how we call it here. It's rare ocasion when full moon is at minimum distance from earth. It was really unforgettable. We were out all night in the mountains and it was like during the day. Similar cases can be calculated in advance and set as "bonus" in multi cache. Anyway I would probably add this astronomy jumble really as a bonus. Happy caching in 2004! MarE
  13. I am trying to prepare cache where location is determined by drawing lines between stars at specific time of the night and year. Standing point would be some kind of multi. I am wondering if anyone will ever visit the cache which can be found only few weeks during the year?
