  1. I figured out the problem with the log disappearing! You can not rotate you phone once you start a log entry I.E. I like to rotate my phone to horizontal because it is easier for this old guy to type but doing that seems to delete the log entry when I rotate the phone back to vertical. Also now when I try to send all the days logs it just shuts down the app on my phone. Took three trys to get it to work and it duplicated a few log entrys that I had to delete via the computer.
  2. Anybody having trouble posting a log on their phone? Updated the app on my phone now I have to try two or three times to post a found log. After entering a message on the log screen and hit "done" it takes me back to the "log type" page and my just typed in log is gone! Have to start over by selecting "post a log" and re-entering the message.
  3. My most brainless act just happened this past week. I was caching along a hike bike trail which runs along side of a river and came to a boardwalk at the rivers edge. I had looked at the hint which read "citengam". I started searching the boardwalk for some sort of design, trying to think of what a citengam would look like! After about five minutes the lightbulb finnaly came on!
  4. If you think a cache at a adult store is bad, check out GC24QHB Lift That Skirt
  5. I have been using Cacheberry for about a year now with no problems. I like the fact that you get the last four cache logs also when you load in the cache pages. The only drawback I have encountered is thst you do not get images/photos that might be in the cache listing. Not a big problem except for some puzzle cahces.
  6. My 60csx acts up all the time. I figured out that when I unplug it from the car power cord the compass is usually off. Also you might try do upgrade the software from Garmen. That helped mine alot but be aware the the upgrade states that all waypoints "could" be lost during the upgrade. That did not happen to mine.
  7. Has anyone ever used a TigerTag? The idea is that you place a tag (sticker) on your GPS, camera, Ipod ect. and if it is lost the finder can log onto Tigertag.com and let you know the item was found, and make arrangements for it's return. The tags are nice and small and each one has a unique number on it that identifies the item. And the service is free! Got five sheets of the tags in the mail today and think it's a great idea, but was wondering if anybody has used them, and if so was a lost item returned.
  8. How about when you find a micro, as in a film cannister, in a very muggle filled area and you have to unroll the log and search for the last entry. It takes you longer to fill in the log sheet than it did to find the cache! In locations were you need to be fast and stealthy, I allways roll up the log so the next finder only has to un-roll it slightly to sign it. I hate hints that say something like "just left of the big rock". Would that be your left or my left?
  9. THanks. I did download a update from Garmen. One of the listed fix's was the compass calibration. Can't wait to see if it works better after the update. If not I will use it in the batteries and not the car power cord.
  10. Is anybody else having trouble with thier compass on a Garmen 60csx? I have to recalibrate it at every cache! I discoverd that the compass seems to lock up when I plug it into the car power cord between caches. It seems to work better when I do not use the car power adapter and just let it run on the batteries. Is thier possibly a fix for this?
  11. I found a cache once that was suspened from a bridge by a piece of fishing line....the bridge deck was one of those open metal grate type and the cache was suspended smack dab in the middle!!! We had to dodge a few cars as you couldn't remove the container from the line, had to just crouch in the middle of the bridge to remove the log. I didn't think of it as being dangerous, I rather got a kick out of the placement!
  12. Check out GC1V6ND. It is placed up in a tree out over a lake. If you fall you get to go swimming too!
  13. Hello, I need to upgrade my cellphone, I use Verizon, and I want to get a phone that I can load the cache logs into and go paperless. Does anybody have a suggestion on which modle of phone would work best? I will still be using a GPSr for locating the cache.
  14. I made a pinecone cache using a hot glue gun. I glued the pinecone pieces over a large pill bottle that holds a smaller pill bottle in place with a magnet. The finders just remove the smaller bottle form the larger and don't have to handle the pinecone. It is wired to a brach in the pine tree. it has been in place since early spring and is holding up nicely.
  15. I completed a very well done multi last month and found a bookcrossing book in the final. What a cool idea for a cache! The book I found was sitting in the cache for over a year. I still have it and will place it while vacationing down south...yes I read the book and re-sealed it in plastic.
  16. I know of a cahe that is placed in that manner.Only the cap can be seen, the rest being underground. There are more DNF logged than founds!
