  1. Couldn't agree more. By the way, I know something you don't know.
  2. Try this http://www.gccoins.com/UK2active.php let me know if you have any problems alex
  3. Its very rare that I post on congratulations threads, but for StevieP I will make an exception. Well done.
  4. I'm white/british... but not for long
  5. Its all debatable (hence the debate in this thread). I asked around last night amongst my friends (all Americans) and none of them admitted to being offended by the word d a m n. Not in conversation, print or on TV. None if them thought it was too objectionable to use in front of children from time to time. So that puts that one to bed. What we did find really interesting though was the ever expanding use of initial letter instead of real words. For a long time we have had the F Word. Not made famous by Gordon Ramsey apparently. In the US we have the N Word, not at terrible to use in the UK and over here where only black Rap stars are allowed to use it. Then there is the C Word which is pretty unpleasant in the UK (but without that one Chubby Brown would be F'ed) but is almost a total no-no for Americans. But wait... there's more. This one week we have a new one. The movie "Tropic Thunder" is being picketed because of what we are told is the liberal use of the R Word. Which words can we use on this forum, well no one is going to publish a list so its just left to guesswork. It does seem though that its Global Moderators again who are operating with the heavy hand and not over local one. I suppose I'd better shut up at this point before I get K'ed.
  6. Ain't it just. "British Championship", what's that???
  7. Doesn't she realise that she has an obligation to monitor the forums 24 hours a day. She's nothing but a slacker.
  8. Must be slow news day. This story just made the national TV news in the USA.
  9. You have to realise that such an event takes a huge amount of research.
  10. Am I the only one who sees the irony of this situation with regard to the Moderator who perpetrated this mess and cockney rhyming slang?????
  11. I really dont want to go down that path Alex I know you don't. But Cha*ity begins at home. Its not fair that you lose out when there is a surplus. alex.
  12. If the event is in profit, which Jazz says that it is, shouldn't the organisers reimburse Mandy??
  13. Oh yes they will. I haven't been charged for wi-fi in a US hotel for the last two years at least. A couple of the "posh" chains still charge but nearly everywhere wi-fi is free now. Even then $18 a day is outrageous. I ain't paying it, that's for sure. I'll live without internet for two days or sponge on someone else (whoops.. what a giveaway) a.
  14. And your luggage? Chris (MrB) That arrived with me this time. a. (watching the rain out of the window in Dewsbury. Haven't seen rain in Texas for 3 months now. Lovely jubbly.)
  15. Safely arrived from Chicago. Currently enjoying a nice glass of pink champagne in the First Class Lounge at Heathrow T5. Next stop, sunny Manchester. a.
  16. GCA152 2145 miles. From Batley to the furthest past of Cyprus. Made all the sweeter when you seen who the First Failed to Find was.
  17. Yes, not meeting Mandy is something to look forward to.
  18. I was under the impression that sig lines were exempt, unless they were beyond the bounds of good taste? That "used" to be the rule, in fact it was stated as that by mtn-man in one of his postings on this forum after the reviewers/moderators quit. But someone pushed the point with TPTB and my sig was deemed to be "commercial" and had to be removed. Not after quite a fight on my part, but with the prospect of a total ban from the forums looming I backed down. It's sad really as my sig affected the complainer in no way whatsoever and having it removed made no difference to him, or anyone else in the UK forum. Squeeling for squeelings sake. Not as sad as having Mandy's thread closed I admit.
  19. Unfortunately its pretty common in the UK forums. I had to remove part of my forum signature because someone told tales to teacher. It had lived happily at the bottom of all my posts for well over a year, and did not even have anything to do with the UK at all. Thanks Bob.
  20. yes! me and Mrs P (butty box hunters (granny)) are there Sat Sun depart Monday Great, looking forward to meeting up with you again. alex.
