  1. I know you can load them both on the same unit but you can only have one running at a time. You'll have to pick between TOPO and City Nav.
  2. I just purchased a 60CSx and would like to update the map. What map software do I need? I'm going to primarily use this unit on my Dual Sport motorcycle and Jeep with some Geocaching thrown in. I'd love a map that shows most forest roads and most new pavement roads. I was going to buy Topo 2008 and City Navigator NT but then I started reading and found a 2008 update. Can I just get the 2008 software or do I have to buy City Navigator then get the 2008 update. Do I even need the Topo software? Thanks
  3. I had that happen to a cache of mine. Someone stole the ammo can but left all the contents. Another cacher came along and put the contents inside of a plastic container.
  4. For some reason Jeremy doesn't want our opinoins on this and has locked it. Nice. quote:Originally posted by Greg_:To see how others feel about the format of the Nearest Cache page, I added a poll under _Geocaching.com Discussion_. Let everyone know what you think! Greg
  5. This should be rather easy to implement and would make the search (at least for me) 100X's better. When you click on New Search how about being able to search for "All Geocaches" "By Home Coordinate" and then we can click the "Exclude hidden/found items. I would love to be able to search for the ones I haven't found but it's a pain to have to enter in my home coordinates every time I want to do it.
  6. The new cache listings are ok but is there anyway to make it so the caches you haven't found are listed on top, caches you have found are listed in the middle, and caches that you own are listed on the bottom again? Now Instead of just looking at top of the cache listing for caches I haven't found I have to scan through the entire thing and hope I don't miss one.
  7. I've gone to him with a few more ideas to maybe add some more variety in the container's. Someday they might show up as well.
  8. I only have two big pet peeves regarding geocaching. The first is people who try to make it into a contest. The only person I am caching against is myself thank you. The other is people who complain about caches in their logs, especially when they have yet to hide one. If you have a problem with a cache, email the hider. If you think you can do better, lets see it.
  9. Wow they are finally up and for sale. These things all got started when I went to one of my friends here in town that "makes things" and asked if he could make me a something that looked like a real rock, felt like a real rock, could stand up to desert heat and winter cold, and that I could stand on without breaking and was hollow. After a couple of tests, revisions, and suggestions to make them better what you see at the Groundspeak Store is the end result. I guarantee these are far superior to anything you can find at the corner hardware store or something you can make and spray paint. The original test rock is located here in Albuquerque. The test cache We purposely hid it in plain site of a large park just to see how long it would last without be accidentally found. I had started the rock as a log only cache but people have been leaving things in it. Its been active for 6 months and so far its been stepped on, rained on, frozen, hit with a weed eater a few times, I threw it down the road once just to see what would happen, ran over, kicked, and still looks like the day it was born and still hasn't accidentally been picked up. I don't know, is that worth $14?? Just to clear something up before it even gets started I'm not associated with Groundspeak or the person who makes these in anyway other then being friends with him and I don't get anything from it. I just gave him an idea and helped him test it.
  10. My Magellan Meridian Platinum has just what your wondering about, A built in Barometer and Temp. If you let the unit run for a bit it will keep a 24hour log of the barametric pressure.
  11. A New Mexico geocache event is coming up in a few weeks. It's a campout up in the Jemez mountains. Also if you like visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NM_Geo/ A very basic email group that tries to keep all the New Mexico Geocachers on the same page.
