  1. I agree. If people would check thr Triton forum they would see how well the unit is working for those who read the manual and learn the unit. The comment about not being able to load maps or more than one waypoint is just retarded! Come on, READ THE MANUAL. And maybe the Garmin freaks should worry about other things than trying to bash Magellan. I have owned 3 different Magellans and loved them all! And no, I'm not a Magellan employee or retailer. Both Garmin and Magellan make great GPS units. Just pick the one you want and leave everybody to their own choice.
  2. Yes, its the 4.2.2 version and Topo says it is the newest update. I got it from the Triton link for the NG Topo program just yesterday.
  3. I was wondering how to save and then transfer a map from NG Topo to Vantage Point. After I make my selection in NG Topo when I click save to disk it just gives me different photo formats such as JPEG and others to save it as. This does not transfer the file, just a picture of the map. What am I doing wrong? Also, how do I know how big the file will be?
  4. Hi Sharon, I just had the same problem today but I just used the Magellan Geocache Manager and everything worked fine. I don't think EasyGPS works correctly with the 500
  5. I had a 2 Garmins and they both had trouble keeping satelite lock. I now have an Explorist 500 which is similer to the 600 and it does MUCH better with sat. lock. It can still lose lock under deep cover but not nearly as bad as the Garmin.
  6. Those people are nuts if they bug you about using a magellan. I had an e-trex summit and got rid of it and got a magellan map 330 just because the garmin had such bad sat. reception. The bottom line for me was if it loses sat. lock it aint no good to me. My magellan tracks sats. much better and works just fine. In fact I just ordered an explorist 500!
