  1. I'm new and would love to get in this game. The coins I've seen are too cool looking to drill holes in. I'd go with Rockin Roddy's method. If you need someone in Wisconsin (which I guess would be Northeast US?), let me know.

  2. I like the squirrel picture :D.

My furry creature picture keeps on disappearing. I have a link from my Google Picasa web album. Is there a way to directly upload photos into our message?

I upload the photographs I want to post into one of my archived cache logs. Then I click on the photograph in the log to show the 'original' on a page of it's own, I copy and paste the url from that image into the post. Hope that helps.

    Thanks, here it is:

...and one of my favorite photos! A frozen flower that my dad is holdin! It is a rare photo just because we actually do not have snow in Rhodes!!! this photo was taken on the tallest mountain in Rhodes, and it was -16 C° !!! I had never experiensed something like that (frozen things, snow and very low temperatures!!!)

Nice photo. Of course up here in wisconsin that's a regular sight in the winter where it gets down to -15 F (-26C) every winter (and no, I don't get used to it).

  4. Atheism requires too much dogmatic certainty, which, in my opinion, is unscientific.

No that's "strong atheism" and no one really believes in that (i.e. "I know that god doesn't exist.").

Yes, there are some who believe that way. I've met some personally.

Many may say that, but if you push most of them, they'll probably give you that 0.000001% chance that god exists (at least that's been my experience).

Agnostics think that there's an equal chance that god could exist or not exist. To me agnostics are more unscientific because they are essentially saying that something is 50/50 when they see no evidence for it.

Equal chance? 50/50? Where did you get that?

Well agnostics say that they can't know whether god exists or not, which means on the spectrum of "I know god exists" and "I know god doesn't exist", they're right in the middle.

  5. I don't have enough faith to be an atheist...

Same here. That's why I consider myself an agnostic.

No that's "strong atheism" and no one really believes in that (i.e. "I know that god doesn't exist."). Most athiests are just below that level ("I am fairly (99.99...%) certain that god doesn't exist"). Agnostics think that there's an equal chance that god could exist or not exist. To me agnostics are more unscientific because they are essentially saying that something is 50/50 when they see no evidence for it.

Now... who wants to get back on topic.

  6. Chances are the previous holder can't do that anyway - they no longer have the coin, so unless they wrote it down, they don't have the tracking number. And now that you've logged it, the coin doesn't show in their inventory. It's done deal.

I guess... I'll just make some more logs to say I picked it up and dropped it off in the cache that I found it in so that the travel map is up to date.

  7. Why can't we do this? I found a geocoin that was logged in a different cache. Since it was only a few days between when it was last picked up, I assume the person who placed it in the cache that I found hadn't had a chance to log their dropoff. But I didn't look at when the last time the coin was logged so I logged a "found in a different cache." I'd like to delete my log (or change it) so that the previous holder has a chance to log their move and things get cleared up on its travel map.

    <social commentary>

you would think people would understand the freedom's they hold dear, but its not usually the case over here. Freedom not only applies to your own beliefs, but also to those that you disagree with. I currently work in the public sector and at Christmas time, they don't allow employees to put up Christmas trees. But when it comes time for the Gay-Straight alliance to have their annual dress up like the oposite sex day, nobody seems to have a problem.

It's not about holding back your freedoms. It's about common courtesy to other cachers. Despite what some might think, trying to convert people who are not interested is rude (and people who are interested could find more appropriate venues). Similarily, I don't think it's proper (and I haven't heard of it happening) if an employer in the public sector encourages "dress up like the opposite sex day."
