  1. Actually, one time I was out & about and turned on my GPS'er to see if there was anything close to me to find (I had 500 caches loaded into my eTrex Venture HC). I picked a nearby one, not knowing that it was a multicache. I got to GZ, looked around, said "there it is", and sure enough, I found a container with a log, signed it, and went home happy. It wasn't until I went to log my smiley online that I found out it was a rather involved multi. I have been congratulating myself on my amazing geosense ever since
  2. If you are really worried about it breaking, you could take a photo of the bottle, laminate the photo, and send that around as "proxy swag". NOTE: the above post contains HUMOR, and perhaps some SARCASM
  3. There is a letterbox hidden near one of my cache hides, and you wouldn't believe the number of cachers who find it and think it is the cache. They sign the letterbox log, even though written on the outside of the container, very clearly, is "Letterbox"!.
  4. Nice. The last pic looks like you grew a second head. Awesome.
  5. Wow. That sounds like a lot of fun. I lived in Wadsworth for 8 years, and still have friends that live in Rogue's Hollow. This looks like an event that I should make every effort to attend. Knight2000: I might be able to get some ammo cans for $5 or less, I will check the store ASAP.
  6. I once bought a bunch of "Cacher Geocoin" coins from Castle Coins and Pins for about $5 each, but when I went to the store today, it seems that they are no longer available. Too bad, because I wanted to buy more of them. Here is an example of what they look like: http://img.geocaching.com/track/932e69e3-6...14e50873b1d.jpg
  7. My avatar is actually a photo of me. It would be excellent if someone with real talent could design a LEGO-themed logo for me.
  8. I have been using a Venture HC for over a year as my primary GPS'er. It will serve you well, and definitely will lead you to the cache location. You won't want to use it for street navigation though, so be sure to check out the google map on the cache page to get a good idea of where the cache is.
  9. I use a Palm m515, with a "pretty color screen", and have never had a problem seeing the screen in the brightest sunlight. My eTrex Venture HC, though, is practically invisible in the sun. Anyway, I got the m515 on eBay for $30, with charger/dock included, and it has worked perfectly for a year so far.
  10. Please edit your posts to remove the tracking number - it should never be shown publicly.
  11. Oh my. And I used to live in Wadsworth. Oh, I miss the Blue Sky. And I am missing all of the caching fun up there, too.
  12. Maybe that explains why you didn't get FTF on my latest cache. Also, this problem has another manifestation: I am not getting email notices when someone logs a find on one of my caches.
  13. You dream about geocaching - literally "geocaching in my sleep"
  14. I adopted a number of local caches that I had never found. When I eventually tracked them down, I logged them as finds. I don't see how anyone could find fault with that.
  15. Except that you cannot guarantee that the new listing will be approved. Keeping the existing listing active, through adoption or community maintenance, would be preferred over submitting a new listing.

  17. I don't see that there is a "problem" that needs to be solved. Folks can already write log entries (more than TFTC!) that indicate how well they liked the cache. They can already add their favorite caches to a bookmark list. Rating a cache as "bad" would just motivate the CO to delete the log entry.
  18. For me, it was a previously signed logbook
  19. I think these new Sony GPS'ers have what you are looking for. Here is a direct link to the Sony site.
  20. Are you saying that you placed a cache 100 miles from where you live? If so, how are you going to do routine maintenance on the cache?
  21. They posted the tracking numbers for some coins on that CITO page - isn't that a big no-no?
  22. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEAH!!!!!!!!! Keystone just published GC1GMRA: Gunsight Rock at 11:50 PM EDT! I know what I'll be doing at daybreak tomorrow morning! Obsession!!! Hopefully, my 74th find will be my 7th FTF.
