There are some nice ones in the area, best look at the welsh tourism site www.visitwales.com
As an alternative, Llandudno and Rhos-on-sea is just 30 min down the Conwy Valley and has lots of cheaper B&B's or Hotels. I even have a client in Rhos that runs a very nice B&B at good rates if interested. there are also lots of caches in that area for when you get back from the show

Now that would be a challenge, getting 3 four foot square TBs to the same location on the same day!
I'm sure we could work something out there, given my location to you. I will give you a call later in the week and arrange a time to pop over with sig item and have a chat about logistics

About 6 months ago I was driving along a green lane near llangollan called the Wayferer and we came accross a box with a Visitors book and lots of little toys and bits. As we sighned the book, my friend piped up and said 'is that a Geocache'. he then went on to explain what a Geocache was and we just thought he was a very strange man.
3 weeks later i was on the net looking for "The Deganwy Castle Hotel" but instead found the Deganwy castle Geocache. Remembering the conversation decided to check out the site and did a search on my postcode. I was supprised to find a geocache less than 1 mile away, at an old castle that i have visited many times.
So we plotted the reference on my map and went to see if we could find it (No GPS at this time)
To our suprise we did. Got my GPS just after Xmas and started the real hunt on New Years Eve. That was it, we were hooked and 4 months, 115 Caches later, we still are. We just love it as it takes us to new places and we are never short of places to visit now.
We have since been back to the Wayferer green lane, where the real Wayferer cache is located about 100 meteres away from the one we found.

being able to get closer to the caches via legal green lanes does help and I do have two sets of standard spares just in case, but the charging of the 2nd set between caches is the winner for me, you always have a fresh set.

I use AAA in mine (yes it's a Geko) and have 2 sets of 650mAh. I also have a rapid charger that runs from my Cig lighter socket in the car, which charges fully in about an hour, so never have a problem anymore.

.......I believe there will also be at least 2 other caches in the area released to-night late or tomorrow morning early for cacher visitors to the event.

I allways have mine on advanced as I can then see how many sats are linked and how strong a signal I have. i find that even though it gives accuracy, this gives a really good idea of how much you trust the location

Thanks Guys, 100 indeed.
I decided to do "Deganwy Castle" as my 100th today as it was the first cache I found on the web. I was actully searching in google for the Deganwy Castle Hotel, but found the cache page instead. That was in November, when I did just one cache. Bought a GPS after Christmas, so 99 have been done in 2004
On to the next 100

I only ever decrypt in the field and only if I really need to. Of the 100 caches I've done, only needed to about a dozen times, so I know a few like cache or The, but I do find that I guess words quicker so only have to decrypt a couple of letters to get the word.

I think it's good to get the recognition for the milestones. Some work very hard for them.
Not that I'm a numbers man myself
(98 and 2 planned for tomorrow )

I think it depends on why the cache is there. One I'm going to place actually has a public foot path running through the church yard, so is used for recreation and the point of the cache is of historical importance dating back to roman times.
So although Caching is refered to as a GAME, I think most see it as recreation.
Personally I would have done my cache as a Virtual, so as not to place anything there, but allow visitors to see this "Roman History". Unfortunatly tighter rules on this means that becouse a physical cache can be placed, then it has to be that, so there will be a micro instead.
I wouldn't just place a cache there for the sake of it, I have too much respect for that.

Oh -- my 2 pence on the Members Only issue -- I would have kept it Members Only for longer; for something as good as the Alchemy series membership SHOULD have its privileges!
What he said
I hadn't even noticed that it was members only, but then being a member i probably wouldn't.
I set my first "Member Only" cache last month and thought about changing it for every one, but then as you said, it's nice to have a few perks as a paid up member, especially at the small cost.
BTW, congrats to MarcB on the series of caches, i look forward to starting my quest on Friday, but I think I will take my time over it.
I also look forward to other cachers comming up with something even better (if that is possible???)
