I dunno about liquid, but Pete's Eats does some great Nosh, although we would struggle on numbers, so a pub it is

Could anyone tell me what the trek up is like as I will have an active pup to consider taking with me... theres no chasmic bridges or wafer thin paths edged by sheer drops are there??? What I'm trying to say is am I risking the Boo by taking her up with me? I like the idea of taking on Snowdon and the boo loves hills and mountains judging by her last visit to Wales!
You should be ok as long as you don't decide or divert up Crib Goch, that is a knife edge!!!!
The Pyg Track is a good steady track most of the way and no real virtical drops and you do pass many a dog dragging it's owner up the mountain. I think the worst bit is the Zig Zags, which are 3/4 of the way up and around where a Cache is hidden I believe, but thats just a series of steps going up with steaper slopes.

That would be great Paul, now it's time to start talking dates, at a guess at Saturday would probably be best for every one, Sept: 4th,11th,18th,25th, Oct 2nd,9th,16th.23rd. I'm sure our new mummy and daddy to be , would be looking at the October dates. As for timing it at the summit, the train has a 1/2 stay there, and takes a hour approx, to reach the summit. Paul if you can do some planning to work out a start time and ETA at the summit, it would give me a idea of what time to query about the train.
Dave
As for Dates, I'm ok for Sept: 18th & 25th, Oct 16th. & 23rd, although we have to concider keeping WT Jr warm, so end of Oct may be a bit chilly for him/her
Thanks Paul for taking the lead on the Pyg Track group, saves me the job as I think I may be busy over the next few weeks
I think peoples pace will vary for the group, but I would guess 3hrs would allow all to make the climb, plus stoppages for a cache or 2 on the way up. If you want parking at the start of the track then you will need to be there by 8am latest, maybe earlier, else it's getting the bus from llanberis or the other end of the Pass. Might be good to find out the frequency of that bus.

Mrs Wild Trekker said she will take the train with Wild Trekker Jnr, who will be about a month old by then, so long as you look after her whilst I talk the long hard walk.

Just want to send my sympathies as I am having similar trouble getting a user to drop a bug he's had for 6 months or more....
this sort of thing really get's my goat!
I see your TB has surfaced, all be it in a 5/5 cache. I am hoping to rescue it in the next few days if I don't get beat to it and if I have the right caving equipment!!!!
Got beat to it by BugznElm'r, but at least your TB is free.

Deja vous

The A55 has lots of drive by caches or those withing a 5 min walk. then head down to harlech on the A470. You could even cut from Abergele to Llanwrst and bag a few. Let me know if you want a list of quick ones on route. Don't forget the Snowdon view series around snowdon, all 1 min or less from car.

Maybe would could have 2 groups. I have been meaning to get that cache for a while, but also want to get the other on the Pyg Track, which is on the way up by foot.
There is also another cache near the start of the Pyg Track for those who havn't bagged it yet, so if dave gets the number together for the train trip, I'de be happy to lead anyone up the Pyg Track, and we all get to the cache event at the top
And I won't even mention my 7 caches around the base of the mountain
-
Also take a look at this list of current virgin caches that are still waiting for someone to find them. Thrunton Woods #1 is on the list, but it's got a long way to go before it reaches the top spot!
Couldn't get that page

April 16th for one of mine, should go live in the next few days
Hidden: 4/12/2004
I wanted it to be a virtual, but it needs to be a Micro instead to get it approved, but that should happen next week
I too have a cache that's remote in respect that it's a fair walk in to it and there are not too many caches in the area, but that just makes it nice when it does get a visit.

Sounds like another great event by you Dave, but sadly I will be in Bristol that weekend. Hope you all have fun and at least I won't leave anything behind this time
(Must come and get that off you some time)
-
PS: I also hate Jeeps and all things 4x4, but that's partly because they tend to squash my MX-5 without seeing me:
That's not completley true, we do see you

Sent mine by email
Should be better than last month, hopefully top 15, but not back to my best yet of 6th
(Not that I'm a numbers man either)
-
Slow month for me, so will drop out of the top 10 me thinks. On the plus side, I have done almost as much this month to date, so "I'll be Back"
Email on it's way

welcome back old timer
I have the 201 and find it great for caching, especialy when you have the link cable for downloading waypoints.
I used some 'Basic' Etrex's that belonged to the FC at the resent event here in N.Wales and was supprised that the Map only goes to 50m, where as the 201 goes to 12m.
I guess what I am saying is make sure you check the spec before making that purchase as the Very basic models (inc 101) just don't have the features that you would need, so you would get fraustrated very quickly
Happy hunting, I have heard that there are now one or two caches down London Way, must get down there for a Tour
-
Just a note for those that went to the event and visited the new cache "Miners Cross Here", it has now been set live and you can log your find
-
That nice man from Cotswolds is trying to get me one from Garmin, so watch out for a new TB
-
Nice one Dave and to do it this weekend with lots of cachers about at your event.
Onward to the next century

On the trashing point, if somebody pays the fee, there is going to be positive record of their identity. If that person is then found to be trashing, they can be banned.
It will still be hard to find the culprit though. I can see everyone that has looked at my Cache on GC.com as it is a members cache, but only a few of those have actually visited the cache.
I guess it will be suspiciouse if there is a prem. memb. that has no finds, but other than that...
I too have had a cache trashed and what I really had to ask myself is could it have been found by accident?? Yes was the answer for my cache, so I moved the cache a 100 feet, in to a better spot and reset it. Time will tell
-
a. Anyone who wants to see details of your members only caches can do so for one pound sixty three pence at the current exchange rate. All they have to do is set up a monthly direct debit for membership then cancel it after the first payment. I don't think a one-off payment of one pound sixty three is going to put any determined cache-trasher off.
I agree here that making it a members cache would not prevent a cacher trasher if they use the site to find them.
I do have a members cache in my area, set by me. I don't think there should be lots of them, but it's a nice feature to put up a bonus cache for those that help support GC.com.
So long as they are less than 1% of caches and serve as an added reward for Paying members, then I have no problem with them
-
First un is here
That's one of the "Additional" caches for the event. Both Justhejob and myself have placed a cache in the area and agreed to hold them until the event. Watch out for my "Minor" Cache. There are also 2 more in the area that are live, Mine Games and The Mountie Always gets his Dragon (Wales) Click Here To See All Caches In The Area
So lots of caching to do.

Don't know why I thought you meant the Ranger, probably had Aragorn on the brain.
