  1. Many thanks for all your comments guys, they were printed off for Mrs Wild Trekker to read whilst still in hospital, she really enjoyed reading them.

Both are home now and the midwife has given the all clear for Miss Wild Trekker to go out and get her first cache :P

And to avoid problems with accessing caches at 3am with a buggy, she will be strapped to me

  2. well as you are peremium members, there is a premium cache 60sec off the A55 and is quick to find, so i could leave ut there for you. Between the bridges is a bit harder to locate and takes more tome off your journey. If you are not traveling the A55 (ie you are coming up through Wales and not along the coast) then let me know

  3. Hi Everyone,

Many have asked me when our new Cache will be arriving, well "Miss WildTrekker" was placed today, Monday 9th Aug, at 11.45am, after a 48hour wait over the weekend for approval from the big chiefs for it to go live.

Although an average sized container of 8lb 5oz, we believe this will soon grow.

Mrs Wild Trekker also doing well and most of the credit should go to her for creating this cache.

Watch out for the special TB being launched in next 24hrs in celebration of this

    <_<

  4. Bit of an odd subject title I admit but has anyone seen this excellent film which was on TV again at the weekend? Towards the end of the film Red (Morgan Freeman) goes out into the country to find a hidden container armed only with a compass (no GPS!!!). He searches in a wall and finds the container under a rock. Hands up those people who epxected him to open the box and find a travel bug, logbook, plastic lion, keyring and a spare set of batteries? I know I did. Are there other similar moments in films?

I think the only thing missing was a GPS, but we thought exactly the same thing when we saw it. <_<

  5. We are off to Ireland on the 21st with loads of caching to do and could take it with us contact us through our profile if you want to discuss details.

    How are you getting there???

I have a bug with me that wants to get there too, so if you are going via ferry from Holyhead or Mostyn, let me know and I can arrange to pop it in a cache for you. :D

  6. People who do leave a TB and take something in exchange are doing no harm providing that when they take a TB that they leave something!

That's not quite true as if we are doing something different, such as if I place a TB and take a swap and then the next person takes the TB and doesn't leave a swap, then that cache is one item down.

Multiply that by several TB's and then there is no contents.

Given all the discussion here, I thing the best policy is to not swap with the TB, but if you see something you (Or your geokids) like, then do a seperate swap foir it.

(That reminds me, must make a note to post about geokid due next week if I find the cache on time <_< )

  7. I guess the problem is that cachers will do it one of 2 ways, thus creating a shortage. I always swap, so if taking a TB I leave a swap if I don't have a TB to leave. I don't always take a swap if dropping of a TB, but do sometimes. I guess if the next person to collect the TB does the opposite, you could have a shortage.

Maybe the answer is always leave a swap when collecting a TB, but never take one when dropping one off, that way the caches get filled up rather than depleted

  8. I suppose some might think this stupid question - but, are there actually any "members only" caches?

We live in Berks and there are around 200 caches within 20 miles of where we live but, so far as we can see, none are members only.

Anyone know if there are any in the UK?

    Thanks

Yep, I have one in North Wales, you should pop by sometime.

We couldn't agree more, Mady... and having paid up for Premium Membership we've yet to find any real benefits to us.

I see it more as me putting something back in to the cost of the sport for the guys that maintain the sites which make this sport posible. Plus I do like the "Pocket Query" option that you have

As for the FTF Idea, i have no problems with that, great idea

  9. :anitongue: Our efforts for July are winging their way via email B)

Will we be any higher up the table , only time will tell :P

Looking at the way you hit most of my caches this month, I think you will make the top 10, I however will replace you in the lower ranks, having only cahced on 6 days out of the 31. Good job I had a good day down in bristol and bath (15 Caches and 8 TB's)

Email on it's way for July

  10. Ditto what they said. i have just spent 60 min on the phone to a mate who has just started to geocache (and he got a FTF on his first cache ^_^ ) explaining the advantages of exporting data from the site to import in to his mapping software.

Caching is so much better thanks to these guys

    BTW, welcome lozsing :P
