  1. Man, this is starting to sound like that scene from Austin Powers III When Austin first rescues his Dad....
  2. When I make a pq, I usually select the 'Run once and delete' option. Seeing how I usually run it and download it immediatly, I think the option to directly download it right from the site instead of having it e-mailed would be a usefull feature. Any thoughts?
  3. Out of couriosity, is he still an active cacher or has he gone the way of the 10 and split crowd?
  4. Hey all! I'm four caches away from hitting the big 2-0-0 and I need a especially signifigant cache to attempt as it. I'm in Grafton, OH (25 miles SW of Cleveland) so I'd liek it to be within 50 or so miles. I'd appreciate everyone's suggestions!
  5. Grafton, Ohio. Itty bitty village about 25 miles SW of Cleveland. Actually, I live in the township outside of the village, but close enough!
  6. I second the good bash method. Occationally when I start my Legend, the screen is nothing but a bunch of dancing lines, and a good hard 'smack' usually fixes the problem right up. Probelly not as good as getting it serviced, but then again I'm poor, so it costs less!
  7. For those who leave sig items, after how many finds did you decide to make a personalized one for yourself? Having found 172 over the past year, do you think its too late to come up with one for myself, or is never too late.
  8. When I first heard about geocaching, I came across 'the other site' first. There was something about it on the local news, and they gave the address. So, I checked it out, didn't see any near me (the closest one to me on their site is 35 miles) and I didn't have a gps to begin with so I lost intrest. A few months later I finally bought a gps more less for navigation, and while looking for maps to down load for it I came across GC.com. The rest is history.
  9. Then again, you have to ask how many cachers actually stick around to reach 100. It seams the norm to find a dozen or so and then lose intrest. Poor folks... don't know what they are missing
  10. I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but what are your thoughts on caches placed in graveyards? I did several of them recently, and to be perfectly frank, i find it kind of disrespectfull to make someone's place of 'eternal rest' just anouther area for us to play. Now, if the cache is historcally based and centered around the grave of some historic figure, that could be anouther story, but placing a cache in a graveyard for the simple fact of placing it seams wrong and disrespectfull in my eyes. What do you think?

    Graveyard Caches

    Opps! Wrong section, closing topic.

  13. While atempting this cache, I stumbled upon an intresting stone that i believe to be a survey marker dating back to 1832. Its a square piece of sandstone with a indentation on the top for there survery equipment with a big bronze plaque on the front. I've read descriptions of some markers 'of the usual type' and it refers to a stone block. Is this such a stone? (And go figure, its not listed in the GC database.) PS: Yep, thats a YJTB
  14. I do believe this has been covered and its just a glitch on the cache page. We are still waiting for Jeramy to fix it, but its just cosmetic so I don't think it has a high priority.
  15. Up here in Cleveland, Ohio, I am eagerly awaiting a very large Jeep release by our local club. There has been some trickling of individual jeeps out and about, but I'm still waiting for the grand release. But, I also noticed that there have already been large releases in the Colubus area (90 miles south) , anouther large release expected later in month near Toledo (100 miles West) as well as a small release expected near Akron (40 miles South-East). By next month, we'll be swimming in YJTB's . How much saturation is in your local area and which state has the greatest/lowest?
  16. Most people who read the forums know about the famous Yellow Jeep Fever and why it was arcived. Yet, almost daily there are still a LOT of people logging this cache as a find. Seeing this, do virtuals or locationless caches ever truely become archived since they can be logged regardless? Have there been other such caches that have met a premature death yet are still being logged? And, most importantly, what do TPTB think about it? Just wondering, because I'm awfully temped to log YJF, especcially since i got one sitting in my drive way right now...
  17. Thanks again for your imput. After what you said, I think I'm going to reconsiter the creation of this travel bug and go back to the drawing board.
  18. Why does Jeep4x4 say he has 4001? Jeep4x4 Profile
  19. I think I liked the old ones better. Why the change? But hey, we had these for a while in the benchmark section, so maybe its just going towards a more unifiyed aproach.
  20. Thanks for the advise. Would hiding it withing say 100 feet or so of an existing cache work and then posting the corridinates when you log the bug into the cache work out?
  21. I made a new travel bug Here. Has anything like this been tried before?
  22. Are mayflies also called candian soldiers?
  23. Regardless if someone else has posted already with a pic, I try and provide at least three pics: first a close up of the disk itself, then its setting be it in the side of a building or a monument that protrudes a bit from the ground, and finally one of the surrounding area including as many major referances as I can get into one shot. Mostly, though, I post the pics just to 'show off' what I found, I think that is one of the best parts other then the hunt itself.
  24. I just got my first first to find on Friday, but I think I've been bitten by the FTF bug!
  25. Mr. 0, That wouldn't be Norwalk Race Way, would it? Before I totaled it, my 98 Mustang GT would run the quarter in 12.14. She was with me on my first geocache. But, alas an embankment had her name on it and she found the great quarter mile in the sky
