  1. I know all about parental alienation and nothing has seemed to matter. I have witnesses that saw how excited the kids are to go geocaching, but my opinion doesn't seem to matter. As for ignoring the emails, I keep getting hit with her court costs, so every time that she files paperwork, or sends emails, it ends up being ME paying for it.
  2. Sorry if that's not allowed. I personally don't check all area's very often, I usually just check the canadian section, but I wanted input from everyone. If I can only have one thread, I'd rather the other one stay open.
  3. I just went through a custody battle and to make a long story short, my ex was allowed to move to Ontario with my kids. The last week I was given with them, we went out "treasure hunting" several times and the kids as always, had a RIOT and asked me to go "treasure hunting" every morning. I just received a copy of an email from my ex's lawyer to mine stating that my children did not enjoy themselves and that I am "extremely immature for doing this kind of thing...especially at my age". I notified my lawyer that it's a GREAT past time to get out in the fresh air and walking around, and that you have to think to figure out where the cache is. He replied by saying that "no judge would approve of geocaching, they would rather you went for a walk or read them a book, enhance their minds". Anyone care to put some input in here that I can forward on? If you message regarding this topic, please include your name, province/state, ages of people you have geocached with, and an experience. Any ther comments would be welcomed as well.

  5. I've come across the same issue. I just look at it as another cache found and move on to the next.
  6. I just put out my first hide yesterday and it was found within half an our of it going "live". I had debated about putting a FTF prize in and then decided against it. My thought is that people do this for the fun, if you start adding cash prizes, then it loses it's value as a low cost outing. I know personally if someone posted that they were putting $20 in a cache, I'd dash to the place just for the $20 not even caring what else was in it. For all of my placements, I'm going to stick with KISS... Keep It Simple Stupid (Not directing that to anyone but myself as I tend to go overboard).
  7. We were trying to come up with a name that showed we were a family, but there were already a couple with famil yin it and we wanted something unique. Decided to go with Team D.A.M.A Daddy . Alyssa (My daughter - 18 months) . Mommy . Aiden (My son - 2 months) (Is my son the youngest geocacher on this site?)
  8. Thank you for all of the responses. I had a generous offer from someone. This person (Not sure if he wants to remain anonymous or not) has generously offered to send me an unregistered coin so that I can mail it to him myself and he can start it on it's way, and then track it himself. With any luck he'll have it sent to me so that we can just have it travel back and forth, but I'll leave that up to him. To this person, I say thank you.

  10. I've got this same question asked on the Edmonton Alberta site but I want to get as many feelings about it as I can get. Here's the story... I've got a couple of trackable geocoins here that I want to put back out, but what I'm wondering is can I mail one to my 7 year old son in Ontario to put into a cache out there? He LOVES geocaching (treasure hunts to him) and I would LOVE to be able to send at least one to him to do since I don't get to see him often. Kind of gives us a connection even though we're so far apart.
  11. I haven't found anything weird IN a cache, but I did find a vibrating egg (sex toy) while out looking for one. The cache was missing and this was where the cache was supposed to be. As for the condoms, and I know I'[m going to get blasted for this, but I think it's an acceptable item. People are saying that they're taking their children out with them to hunt for these, and they're saying that it's a great educational hobby that allows them time to talk with the family. Well what's a better time to have a talk with your kids about safe sex than when your out in the middle nowhere with no distractions. Would you rather fight the tv for their attention? They're going to see them eventually! It's NOT going to kill them (I promise ).
