  3. Hi, I am trying to add my Travel Bugs to my watchlist, but I guess Im not smart enough! When I go to my TB page I dont see any "Watch This" link. Is it hidden? I can see where others are watching it, but I cant. K5KOY
  4. You guys are using the wrong mount!. Do a search for "RAM Mounts" on Google. Ram mounts are specifically designed to cut down, and even eliminate the shock factor due to the shock absorption rubber ball mounts used in their products. Its the ONLY mount to use for any sort of mobile electronics. I swear by em! K5KOY This is my garmin12 ram mount, also seen here is a ham radio Ram mount
  5. I think you are missing the boat if you do not look at PPC's. I use a Toshiba E335, and it rocks! It is extremely cool for geocaching and many other things as well. And considering it is a little older unit, you should be able to pick up a factory refurb for less than a new Palm OS machine. Full color display, decent battery life, and a plethra of other uses and features. Most importantly, if you go with the palm OS unit, you will upgrade to PPC in about 6 months anyway, so why not cut out the middleman! My $.02 worth.. Good luck, K5KOY
  6. I just got my premium membership also, and have figured out how to download waypts to my gps, but I havent got a clue how to put that gpx stuff in my toshiba pocket pc so I can go paperless. HELP![SIZE=14] Koy-K5KOY
  7. Thank you, There are screen shots there, and it is all very explanitory. It is not a program, it is merely an applet to be used with the program. Like I said, use it, dont use it. I will, and will enjoy it. DDH sees it as harmless or it would not be allowed on thier page. I made the applet for my own use, and simply thought others would find it useful as well. Koy quote:Originally posted by Pixie_Tracker:Koy, Welcome to Geocaching! It's nice to come up with something that others could use but you'll want to provide more info on how to use it and what it does. It isn't paranoia on our part but necessary caution that is needed when a new person "drops in" to offer a free download. For example, a recent news article mentioned that a young man offered a free program to others in a financial forum. Turns out that he added a keylogger to the app and was able to grab a person's login/passwords and bank account info. He ended up ripping the person off to the tune of $120,000 or so. The feds did end up busting him though and he's up for some jail time. So you need to be very specific about your item and gain a bit of trust by way of participating in this sport. Others that decide to download the item also need to always be aware of the potential risks. We are a great community and no one should feel isolated as a new person nor should any members be harmed
  8. Hello again, Enjoyed my first time out caching, found 2 and thanks for the fun. I had posted about an applet I made for HanDbase 3.0 for geocaching, and had a couple of wise-acres reply, and some that were interested, but wary. Ok, well it works great, and I will continue to use it. If you want to try it, fine. Its a free download, if you dont, thats fine too. Dont. Now there are screen shots for the "paranoid." 9. Hi all, I am brand new to this adventure, and have'nt even found my 1st cache yet. But tomorrow is my day off, and me, my motorcycle, pda, and gps are goin! If you have a pda, HanDbase 3.0, and about 15 seconds, I have just created a geocache applet that will help track, sort, and help to find that elusive cache! It can be downloaded for free at: http://www.ddhsoftware.com/gallery.html Good luck! Koy
