  1. Yipee! Headed to California in the morning, then on to Mexico.... then to Atlanta. Glad to have my favorite BM tool back in the box. Thanks!
  2. I definitely will not be one to complain about longer conversion times
  3. +1 Heading up to Wisconsin on Monday and was getting my plan together to grab some brass while there. My heart sank when I ran my list through the converter and it choked. I just stared blankly, wondering what in the heck I was going to do. After looking into the error log, I knew where the hiccup was... Came over here and was relieved to see that this fix was already in the works. Thanks again Mike.
  4. The <hr> tag no longer appears to work in cache HTML.
  5. Here's the biggest cache I have found - GCNWBC; And there are several images in the gallery that best describe it's size. Very well done by the CO.
  6. Unfortunately, his/her eBay account will likely feel no damage from this transaction. The negative feedback (if received) will "drop off" after 12 months, and the seller will be right back at 100% rating. This person has only sold 13 items since August 17, 2004 - with one negative feedback (as a seller) in September of that same year. With this low activity level, it looks like they will have no problem waiting the 12 months to reclaim "perfection". A detailed description with the negative feedback might deter the next "tether car" buyer, but it is very doubtful (especially in a ~100 character feedback posting). As a buyer, it will simply not matter at all. This kind of thing really irks me, as the TB owners are the real losers here. The best thing that can happen now is for the winner to "catch and release", so that this mess can be forgotten. I do hope that the winner of the auction (if from the forums) will post the details of the bugs and where they are released - it would make for a nice ending...
  7. I sent "Team Sam" an email this morning, after reading this thread. I told them what was going on, and sent them a link to the auction. I also reported the auction to eBay, but it looks like they will leave the auction up for now: Hello, Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your concern. If you see an item on eBay that you believe is stolen, please contact law enforcement immediately. Please inform the police officer handling the case that eBay will be pleased to cooperate in the investigation. Ask the officer to contact eBay at the following Help page: http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_us/_bas..._selection.html To ensure that the report reaches the right person in the shortest amount of time, the officer will need to follow these steps: 1. Select the "Listing Violations" option, and then click the "Continue" button. 2. Select the "Stolen property" option, and then select the "You are a law enforcement official" option. 3. Click the "Continue" button. 4. Click the "Email us" link. The officer will be required to enter his or her contact information and, if available, will also be asked to enter the Item number, User ID, and additional information about your report. Feel free to forward this message to the law enforcement officer assigned to the case. Thanks again for your report. Sincerely, eBay Customer Support The auction lasts for another 6 days; I'm thinking that I will act as an interested buyer and see if I can get the tracking numbers from the seller. Maybe if enough of the real owners contact the seller, they will decide to do the right thing. [edit to say never mind; the seller ended the auction early - game over]
  8. Another LowePro 200 user here, and it is the only bag I use. I carry my Canon DSLR, a couple of lenses, and a small tripod (gorilla) in the main compartment; the rest of my "caching gear" fits in the other compartments. I carry my palm and 60csx on my belt. Yes it is an expensive camera; but for me, taking pictures is high on my priority list. I was afraid to take it anywhere when I first bought it, but then I realized that's what I bought it for. Some really good photo's have come from some tough caching DNF's - photo's that I couldn't have pulled off with a little P & S.
  9. If you use GSAK, you can send whatever you want (up to the character limit) to the 60csx. There are many different combinations, but I like to send them with the waypoint name as GCxxxx, and the description as the "hint" from the cache page (%hint). the "Description" on the 60csx is limited to 30 characters, so there are times where the entire hint will not make it over to the unit. Some folks go as far as adding the difficulty, terrain, and container type to the 60csx, but I keep all of that info on cachemate (don't like the clutter on the GPSr).
  10. Wow, those are annoying badgers. I wish that I had never clicked the link to this cache, as I will never likely be in that area. I solved the puzzle though, so there is a little satisfaction to go with that mind-numbing song that will be in my head for weeks.
  11. I agree. What about the GPSMAP 60? Does the antenna give better accuracy than the Legend or Venture? I might be able to stretch the budget out to $250.
  12. I just upgraded to premium, and PQ's are definitely worth the thirty bucks. Currently, I have a Magellan eXplorist 200 to hunt, a Garmin c550 to get there, and I am paperless with my Palm Treo 700p. While the Magellan has been great for what I bought it for a few years ago (marking limb and trot lines), I am getting tired of manually entering the coord's into the eXplorist. I have been reading for days about all of the different models, and I am not really sure what I need - or even want in a new unit. Amazon appears to have some pretty good deals on Garmins, but I have no clue which one is right for me. Here's what I'm looking for; any help narrowing it down to < 3 units will be appreciated: 1. Obviously, I want to be able to hook it up to the computer and download the coordinates. 2. I don’t care if it has a color screen. 3. at least as tough as the eXplorist. 4. <$200 If there's anything else I'm overlooking - let me know. Thanks.
  13. Great video. I will definately be using it to help explain the sport to those with questions. My fav online converter site for YouTube vid's = www.vixy.net
