  6. I use paperless cacheing with GSAK software but once in awhile I did want to print off a cache and I would choose 5 logs and it would come up in .pdf form and print on 1 page...really nice but now I can't do that...DRAT
  7. Ok we fixed the problem, I found the answer about right mouse clicking on devices/applications running in the background when we boot up the computer and closing or exiting them. That worked! We were able to upgrade to the lates firmware.
  8. I have a friend that has the Garmin eTrex Legend handheld and we tried to get her computer to recognize the device when we plugged it into her serial port comm1 with no success. I have the eTrex Vista HCX with the USB connection and was able to upgrade mine to the latest firmware. does anyone have any in sight on what we may be doing wrong here? We would appreciate any help given. thanks
  9. "GPS Chipset Type M software version 2.80 and M2 out today. Not sure what models, but might be the etrexssss and/or the Colorados!!! Edit: OK, these should be for the "H" series etrexes and the Colorado, AFAIK!!" I updated the firmware on my Nuvi 270 with this after reading the post the the GPS chipset Type M was for the etrex H series. Works like a charm now...thanks
  10. Thanks Pilotsnipes. I just went thru and add software to PC and updated my Garmin Nuvi POI file so I could go paperless. I couldn't believe just following your step by step instructions it would be so easy. I am totally amazed by it all. I love it! Thanks for your hard work and the effort put into this task. Loaded onto a free Garmin Nuvi 270. No longer will I be killing trees while Geocaching. Of course I'll still be using my Garmin Vista HCX
  11. "I realize that the "H" models have better reception but I hear that the position will jump when traveling less than 2mph." I have the Garmin Vista HCX, is this a true statement about it jumping if one isn't hoofing it at 2mph? I'm a newbie and need all the help I can get. I've noticed that I'm doing good and then if I stop it does jump in another direction.
