  1. We need a series of virtual caches that Antarctica cruisers can attempt to earn. They can be set up similar to the series of virtual caches on the Panama Canal for cruisers. One example is “The 8th Wonder of the World- The Panama Canal”. Currently, the only virtual caches in Antarctica are at two Research Stations which are unreachable from cruise ships. I am asking all interested geocachers to lobby to convince Geocaching.com to approve a series of virtual Antarctica caches that can be earned from the decks of cruise ships.
  2. I am planning to take a cruise that includes cruising in Antarctica waters (Half Moon Island, Paradise Bay, Deception Island) areas. I have checked out Antarctica caches and there are not any virtual caches that can be logged while on board a cruise ship. The only virtual cache looks like it is GCA93C near McMurdo Station. I know there is at least one virtual cache that can be logged while cruising via the Panama Canal so there are virtual caches that exist that can be claimed while on a cruse ship. How might one establish a virtual cache in Antarctica that can be logged while on a cruise ship?
  3. Since We have a symbol that we can display on Geocaching maps for caches we have logged as found, I suggest that Geocaching.Com add one for caches that we have logged as a DNF
  4. I recently logged (4) caches in Turkey. Two of the caches were found in Asia and two were found in Europe. The four caches are all shown as being in Asia and none in Europe.
  5. I am trying to generate pocket Queries that use a different location than my home coordinated to compute distance to cache. I want top sort the caches by the distance from the new location rather than from my home coordinates. I used specific coordinates different from my home coordinates to generate a 500 cache pocket Query within 50 miles of the coordinates. Viewing the individual caches in the pocket query online on Geocaching.com shows the correct distance and direction from the inputted coordinates. I used the new Delorne Cache Register software to download the query to my PN-20 GPS. When I sorted the caches and viewed individual details on the cache page the distance was computed from my home coordinates not the ones I wanted them computed from. I changed my home coordinates in my profile and I figured that would fix the problem. I ran another Pocket Query and again after downloading it to my GPS, distance was still computed from my real home coordinates. Does anyone know how I can have the distances computed from coordinates different from my home coordinates to display on the cache pages instead of distances from my home coordinates. GrandDaddyDom
  6. Thank you for suggesting Pocket Queries. I checked out the website and I never realized the power of generating Pocket Queries. I generated my 1st PQ and I will now continue to download my caches using PQ's GrandDaddyDom
  7. I am a premium member and I should be able to download GPX format cache files. Every time I click to download waypoint files the download file format is .LOC not .GPX. How do I change my choice from LOC to GPX? GrandDaddyDom
