  1. Thanks for trying to set things right.
  2. I just checked my ProjectPC stats and was surprised to see I have all but four of the negative attributes marked. I only need The Recommended for Tourist, Field Puzzle, Short Hike and Long Hike. I am wondering why Short Hike is under Negative. And I have maybe six of the Positive to claim yet.
  3. Do you prefer to find TB with specific goals or the ones that just want to get miles or travel from cache to cache? No particular preference, but it is interesting the goals stated for some Does it seem to you that TBs with a general goal of simply getting as many miles as possible tend to travel further and last longer than TBs with more specific goals (e.g., visit each of the state capitals)? Have no clue as to how long any last Do you ever specifically search for Geocaches with TBs in them? I cannot think of any caches so selected to look for Does a cache with TBs in its inventory make a cache more attractive to you? Since I seldom check the cache TB list . no. Have you ever kidnapped a TB? (...held on to a TB much longer than you intended). We all probably did, sometimes I find many caches (LPC etc.) that cannot hold a TB, and sometimes I simply forget I have one. I guess if I were to have a certain spot or container for them while enemy custody it would help.
  4. Curiosity makes me ask. A cache is placed and published then found by at least one cacher. Other cachers may have looked but the CO disabled the cache for some reason. If the cache is still in place pending the CO fixing the problem and someone finds the cache while in that Disabled status will the Found log be recordered and recognized? Or does the Disabling affect recording finds or any other log entries? I have no plans to go looking for disabled caches. Although that may be in an interesting time waster if I need one!
  5. I do not know if each geocache account is identified by the computer id; is the :"other laptop or other PC " someone else's"? Not sure how that would apply though
  6. I think that is one of those situations that unless you require a wheelchair or a constant companion to one who does, you just do not fully comprehend what can and cannot be done. I know there are wheelchair users that do have some mobility but reaching is a bit much.
  7. I also think each one individually. But this raises a question for me. If someone not a premium member has already found and logged a find would that change anything on their stats or is a find still a find?
  8. As you can tell there are many ways. Try some and find what you like best .I use the geocache.com site to locate the cache and find a route to get there - select Directions and use the map, satellite views is good to narrow down what you see. Then going to the site I use the iPhone app to see when I am getting close ( this is where a partner comes in handy - one to drive and one to navigate). Then when at the site use the iPhone app, or the Cachly app to locate GZ. I have a Garmin Eurex with a lot of caches in the unit, but usually forget to take it! The iPhone app suffices most times- once at GZ and close to the cache (several feet) you can follow the direction line and distance indicator or use the compass button to there top of the app screen which will show the same thing but a bit more obvious-- but I find the direction may be off up to 180 degrees. But it is a help.
  9. I dId not know there was a webpage such as handicaching.com, but glads there is at least that one. In my few years of caching I cannot think of many caches that 100% findable by those in wheelchairs who cannot move around and find the cache on their own. Maybe some LPCs but then at the mercy of those parking close. It would make a wonderful challenge for a cache owner to place such caches, not only hidden but accessible. Virtual caches would be good but something tangible to see and touch and write on a log would be wonderful.
  10. maybe place what you describe, and give seekers same info as regulator caches but did not use geocaching.com. Since they are to be temporary and only for one event . Unless you seek regular cache stats.

    Lists

I have several Lists setup for caches in certain locations. Every now and then I go to the lists and delete those I have found and those that have been archived. Now when I go to the List and select those to delete, the process goes to the delete page, and when "Delete" is selected an error message shows saying that cannot be done. This is on my home computer using Geocaching.com ; it seems to work the iPhone app. (just checked)
  13. got the message today: do not have Twitter Error 500 Your request resulted in an error. Please check Geocaching on Twitter for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience. Geocaching home
  14. cannot get one Wherigo to work on my iPhone, really have no clue
  15. Mine seem to be okay, using Mac OS Ventura 13.4 and Safari 16.5; app on iPhone seems okay also.
  16. I don't know how this may work out, but could you make an entry for the first cache that would pretty much fit all the rest with maybe a tweak for each individual cache? But copy and paste may be the best, keep it simple.
  17. sent a note to the CO and also the cacher
  18. referring to GCA6FRC, last log, logged as found but apparently not; three logs to the name
  19. How would you address cachers who use inappropriate language in logs? Referring to gutter langauge. Specifically how would you mention that such language is not desired or appreciated in these logs?
  20. I have looked over some sites and the help center and cannot figure this out I now have the Wherigo app on my iPhone; I went to the cache page (GC92P7H) and it says I need to download from here. I tried that on my iPhone and the selection screen where you choose zip code, state or location to search for a cartridge to download that cache does not appear on the list. Really do not understand the Wherigo concept but willing to try. So either something is not working or I am doing something wrong -- have an idea it is the latter.
  21. The hint that the CO provided precluded the coordinates shown to be accurate; a clue right there that something was a miss
  22. figured that was the way, My error in not checking, I thought there was a NM /NA log already entered. There is now,
  23. Is there way to get coordinates updated from what is posted to what is correct for a cache the owner is apparently no longer active. This CO found nine caches and hid two under the name provided, and has not been active on the message board for a while. I just checked, not a long ago as I thought, just over one year. I know he has been contacted about correcting the coordinates on the cache page directly and via logs. Just wondering if a reviewer can change them or is that strictly up to their CO. The cache referred to is GC9Q8Q4. The correct coords are in various logs so they can be seen by searchers.
