  1. We just bought the TomTom One XL-S. Once you figure it out, its just as good as most of them. You can actually set it up to view real time coords and its very accurate from what I can see. Plus the other half of Wapahani (the wife) can use it in her travels for her work. We like it and being able to upload coords from google maps "send feature" really makes it nice. I've got our next 20 caches already loaded.
  2. As a rule what I was told. Search once, then wait a week or more and try once more. You should also read the log. If you find several of the previous visitors left notes that they couldn't find it, chances are it got muggled. Also, I recently found one that was well away from its cords. Sometimes people move them.....dunno why. As for the flooded one, that is just a no brainer. Wait it out.
  3. Wapahani here, located just east of Muncie.... Yes a newbie, but loving it and the wife and I are both hooked now.
  4. We borrowed my parents TomTom XL when we started doing this. Tonight we ran to Walmart and picked up our TomTom One XL-S on sale. If you go in and change the units and cords, you can enter the cords manually then just drive to your location. When you get there, just tap on the sat bar, and it will bring up the cords in real time. We decided on the TomTom because we had used my parents and it was now familiar. Plus the wife can use it when she needs to for her work. Then we can take it out caching. Its nice and I recommend it.
