  1. I have to average manually, does the Oregon 200 do it automaticly?
  2. My Tb went missing it's first day out. I I have contacted the person who took it but he has not resopnded or logged into the site in months.. what are the thought about sending out the copy tag?
  3. I Beleive I am kicking a dead horse here, but I tried to set up a virtual cache and could not. Then went to waymaking, and had an even harder time doing it. What's up with that?!
  4. Just started caching, have 7 signed logs to date and 3 hides, and a bunch of postings. As for sitting around in the forums all day, which I tend to do, is because I am computer teacher, when there are no students around I am hunting through the forums. So am I a real geocacher or a figment of my own imagination? the answere to both is YES!
  5. After where to, the only listed bottons are recent finds, waypoints, trackes, cities, and tides.
  6. Does anyone know how to manually input coodinats on a Garmin Oregon 200? I cant seem too.
  7. IF you feal like crossing into brooklyn on a Sunday, shoot me an E-mail, I try to go out caching kids at least 2 sundays a month, getting ready to clean out Prospect Park.
  8. Greating from Brooklyn, my caches seem to be safe and dry.... My house got a good shaking from the winds.
  9. As for a good reason for using pill bottles, I can say one word, FREE! I end up with many empty pill containers as I finish my meds and vitamins. The trick is to use them well, not alway in an ammo can.
  10. I had a school Cache placed for about a week. Just because the Administration knows does not mean the rest of the school staff, children, parents.... etc know... So I moved the caches, but they are all named for the school and the logs are posted outside my computer lab so the students know who has found the school caches.... Our TB got muggled first day out though..
  11. I'm a member of the platinum club ;-). It is the olny type of jewlery my wife buys.
  12. If anyone is heading out on the NCL Dawn, Aug. 22 to bermuda, I will be there with new GPS in hand. ;-)
  13. An Ammo can in Booklyn, NYC??? Oh, wait, we do have 1!
  14. Since I hunt with my kids 5 Yo, 10 month old) I hunt for the larger "treasures". So far I have been unimpressed by the quality of the 6 caches I have found. Needed to detox the toys my kids picked and the logs are wet. I hope to run across more lock & Locks. My caches are a small lock & Lock and a medium aquacase keeping my caches dry.
  15. I don't have a team name, when caching with the kids I log them as geojunior (5 year old) and geomicro or micro (10 month old)
  16. Silly comment, if we were able to place an cache on the space station, why not have them on some navy ships? those are easier to get to, and are a lot bigger in the case of a carier..
  17. After finding 2, I decided to make some hides, Sankofa 1, 2 , and 3. Looking back at it not, the first is a dud. I will leave it in place for a few weeks in the spring to see if traffic picks up. The others are good locations near home that I adopted.
  18. Be great if they can do something like that in NYC.
  19. Still a newbee, but saw a great location that was muggled and not replaced. So I made the offer to adopt the location and place one of my own. This will keep that great location in play.
  20. We released the school travel bug in Sankofa 3 on december 17, 2009. It was picked up by a cacher on the 29th. He logged the he took it when he posted the regular log, but not on the travel bug's page. So the bug is still listed in the cache. I have e-mailed him a couple of times to log the bug as taken, my students students are still waiting so see it move from the cache. What am I to do? Puzzled....
  21. Still waiting on my new GPS'r. I had to return the I-phone I used. 5000 more sears point to go. . . Good thing yeshiva tuition adds up real quick.
  22. Make sure that the cache is big enough to fit them in, kids don't fold too easily. But seriously, get them good boots, sneakers let all the leaves and dirt in leaving them with hurt'en feet.
  23. Thank you all for your opinions and comments, this cache will be placed in conjunction with the rangers and park supervisor this spring. At that point we will decide on the final container choice, an ammo can or a bucket. We were thinking about the bucket because of the amount of swag it can hold based on our theme.. TBA. If we choose a bucket, we will just have to find a way to camo it well, unburied.
