  1. It seems that trackable data is not appearing in PQ's any more, - - and this seems to have been the case for a few months now. Can trackable information be put back into PQ's please.
  2. Bump; Still no trackable information in generated PQ's

  4. A number of Garmin users (many and various models) here in Australia have discovered that their GPS freezes or turns off when they look at recent logs that contain the HTML comment code "<!--". It appears that some log authors are using this HTML comment tag to hide the last edited information added by Groundspeak after the last text entered by the log author. The result is that the Garmin code to render the HTML from GPX data just chokes on the use of this tag and then freezes or turns the unit off when the user views recent logs. Groundspeak should probably strip out this code in logs because they cause a Groundspeak "feature" to be circumvented, but this may take some time to implement.

In the interim, GSAK users can update to version 8.5.1.28 which will filter out this code when importing logs (and then do a Database > Repair/Defrag to remove any code already in their database). Unfortunately I don't know of a fix for those that import files directly into their GPS unit.
  6. That works for NSW only. From 2.2. How do I search for geocaches beyond my location? the Tip at the bottom of the page says So logically there must be a prefix for Australia as well - after all a lot of countries have a 4 digit numerical postal code. So what is the prefix for Australia?
  7. You're a premium member — use a Pocket Query not the rudimentary "Hide & Seek" page. With a Pocket Query, you click on the "Within" section and select Australia; then in the "From Origin" section enter the postcode (2835); and the PQ will return 93 caches. These will not all be in the 2835 post code area but the search will be centred there with a default radius of 100 miles. If you narrow the radius down to a few kilometres you should grab all the Cobar caches. I KNOW HOW TO DO THAT!! Could someone please answer the question I asked!
  8. I'm attempting to search for geocaches by postal code. Sometimes typing in a postal code works ok but mostly it gives me caches in another country. For example the Australian postcode for Cobar,a town in New South Wales is 2835. When I enter the code into the search I get caches in Hungary. If I use a prefix "AU-" I get French ones, if I use "AUS-" I get Namibian ones, & if I use "Australia" I get caches in Antarctica" What prefix should I use to consistently retrieve Australian caches?
  9. Instead of deleting the whole list and probably getting yourself into this "which is my real ignore list" problem, I think it would be better to empty the Ignore List instead. Then you can use that popular 3rd party program to re-populate the list. Thanks, that looks like a good idea.
  10. And the ability to: Create ignore lists Delete caches from the list by using Groundspeak's Geocaching Live API would be a wonderful thing.
  11. PQ's generated from the "real" Bookmarked Ignore List still do not contain all of the items in the list (but may contain more than 1000).
  12. It looks like this is now fixed. (It looks like my Ignore List wasn't a "real one".)
  13. The Ignore List PQ, generated at 09 Nov 13 00:06:38, from the restored list contains only 1003 of the 1069 items in the list.
  14. I am not ignoring it, that is one solution to only one of my questions, and if that's the ONLY answer than that is what I shall do. I am however looking for another answer - re- phrased below: How do I create and manage my ignore list using "Groundspeak's Geocaching Live API" <Edit> It looks like this can't be done. </edit> The other questions as yet unanswered are: What's the difference between the "real" Ignore List and others (that may also be called "Ignore List")? Is it possible for the general user (not just site Admin) to be able to tell the difference?
  15. Yes a number of those would have been me attempting to track down the issue. So what's the difference between the "real" ones and the others? Is it possible for the general user to be able to tell the difference? Thanks for the info. And following on . . . 1069 items may be a bit unwieldy and possibly should be updated from time to time to cull caches that may have been archived since they were ignored. As the list is not easy to search, sort or edit on-line, at some time in the future I will probably end up deleting the list then re-creating and populating it from a GSAK database via API calls. So advice on how to create a "real" Ignore List with the proper attributes would be most welcome.
  16. Here are the results of some quick testing I have performed this morning (My time is GMT+8) My Bookmarked List "Ignore List" contains 1061 caches. The Ignore List Pocket Query, generated from the bookmarked list on 8 November at 06:05:16, only contains 1005 of these caches. My Pocket Query WA02 generated on 08 November at 04:18:51 contains 53 caches that are in my Ignored List, only 34 of which are in the Ignored List PQ My Pocket Query WA06 generated on 08 November at 04:20:32 contains 60 caches that are in my Ignored List, only 41 of which are in the Ignored List PQ Given these results, I still stand by the statement in my original post:
  17. My current ignore list is here My Ignore List There appears to be disagreement over which list is your current or "active" Ignore List. When you click "Ignore" on a cache (one that isn't already on any lists) which list does it get added to? That would be your "active" list. Only caches on that list will be omitted from PQs. There can be no disagreement. I only have ONE bookmarked list. This One.
  18. Yes I have been attempting to modify my Ignore List. Both of the links above point to empty lists. My current ignore list is here My Ignore List I will re-check when the next PQ's get generated.
  19. I have created 7 pocket queries, using sequential "placed dates", to cover the whole of my current state. Each PQ has the following criteria: Any type, Any container that I haven't found AND I don't own AND is not on my ignore list, Within Western Australia Between placed date1 & date2. (I also excluded exactly the same 5 attributes in each PQ) There is a bug in the PQ generation, each generated PQ contains caches that actually are on my ignore list, and thus should not be there.
  20. 1. You would get a better response if you asked on the Geocaching Australia Forum 2. The "Geocache Management Vehicle" stickers are a novelty item only (possibly could be used to fool muggles who ask "what are you doung here"). 3. They were a limited production run, and there are none left.
