  1. Ok I played around some more wih al of the info and got it! Not certain what I did but I am grateful!! The picture code is slightly different in the 2 documents at the end . One has <br> and I used the one without. Also just sent my remaining description code to my gmail (generated from word), it arrived without the code, and I cut and paste that under my picture code and it worked. Thanks everyone I am so happy!!!!!
  2. Thanks, that is where I started. I am good up until #7. It is just not clear to me. Does the entire section need to be filled with html or can it be my regular text with the html code added? Also it does not say where to add the html code so I have been adding at the start. i tried just inputting it, and then I tried copying what appeared to be the code with my pictures data in the centre. it did not work/. Does anyone have an example with pictures? I am a geocacher not a programmer. :(O((
  3. Can anyone please help me load pictures directly onto my cache pages so that they appear upon viewing the cache description and do not need to be clicked to be seen? I love the way they look and think they really add to the caches. I have gone through the forums and found some instructions but they may as well be in latin to me. Apparently I need to know html? Also it makes reference to "put cache page into edit mode" whereby I can only find "edit Listing" I tried to use Word to convert my descriptions into html before loading the picture but the cache page displayed all of the html gobbly gook. Are there any step by step descriptions? Clearly I am missing it on so many levels. thanks!
  4. Amazing ! Thanks so much that certainly clears some of my dilemma up. Any suggestions on how to see geocache destination (long/lat) and actual current co-ords on one screen- compass or other?
  5. Location / Compass Question Oregon 300 Sorry -computer said post failed -apparently not! When I am Geocaching and in Compass mode I have set 2 of the 4 optional screens at the top to show Location Selected (meaning Geocache I think) and Location (long/lat) which I think means where I actually am. Clearly I have this wrong because both always show the longitude and latitude of where I am and I have to keep going back to figure out what the actual longitude and latitude of the cache are. What am I doing wrong? Is this possible -my memory is terrible and I am trying to see where I need to go vs where I am in numbers all on one screen. Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated ))
  6. Hoping I can piggyback on this question a bit. I too have an Oregon (300) . I also have a NUVI 360 and have used Pilotsnopes amazing program to load 500 cache locations from pocket queries onto my Nuvi. No idea how to do the same for oregon? I can generate the PQ's and have GSAK loaded -I just have no idea what to actually click to export? Lame I know...Do I select Send to GPS? Export? What format? I m a premium member so want all hints etc. I have tried a few but keep getting error messages. Help??
  7. Thanks so much!! I got 2 replies immediately and problem solved.
  8. Perfect! Thanks so much -all figured out now )))) Can't wait to try it.
  9. On the main menu, there should be a button labeled "Mark Waypoint". What that will do is create a new waypoint at your current location. Then you can turn around and immediately edit it, changing the location of the waypoint to what you want it to be (be aware that editing the coordinates isn't the most intuitive thing in the world on the Oregon). I should note, however, that Geocaching on the Oregon is intended to be done completely different than on some of the older Garmin GPS units. Using the "Send to GPS" feature on geocaching.com, the Oregon will save the entire GPX file - position, terrain/size info, description, and recent logs (much of this is only if you're a premium user of the site) - onto the unit. Then you use the geocaching mode built-in to review the cache, and eventually mark it found/not found, adding notes that can be reviewed/uploaded later. It's not based solely on waypoints, like some of the earlier models used. The Geocaching mode on the Oregon looks to be very feature-rich, compared to the eTrex that I was using before (though I haven't even had my Oregon for a week, and haven't yet done any geocaching with it). The layout of some of the options appears to be sorta kludgy, as noted on the Garmin Oregon Wiki, but I'm sure that with a couple of software updates, it'll be much improved.
  10. I just received my new oregon today - prior to this I used my car's Nuvi 360 (which was great but just not accurate enough). On my NUVI unit I could input the actual co-ordinates. My question if anyone knows the answer is how do I manually input N & W co-ordinates on the Oregon? I have set it up to download from my computer but it is not uncommon to be out during the day and I can access geocaching.com from my blackberry to get caches close to where I am that I did not download. I did not purhase any additional maps is that the problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Witch hazel
