  3. Hi, I have just got an IPAQ 2790 (running windows mobile 5) and its running great with cachmate for paperless notes. However I have just been given a Socketcom GPS kit GPS rcvr and MyNavigator software. The maps load of but even though I have done everything it says in the manual there is no way can i get the GPS position to appear on the pda even though the bluetooth device is visible. I think it may have something to do with the inbound and outbbound COM ports used but thats as far as i can get. Any help or idea would be greatfully rcvd. Thanks
  4. Update. Myself and Master Mariner are in contact with the charity and we will be having a meeting with them late in August. The possible treasure-hunt will be next year, as more information is available we will keep you all posted on the GAGB forum.

  12. Hi all. Very new to this (in fact only heard of Geocaching a week ago) but the idea seemed too good to miss, as me and the wife go camping/caravanning a lot and enjoy walks so we thought my not make it more interesting, so here I am. Just got a Garmin Etrex H (dont need maps really as I have a car mounted sat nav which will take me most of the way to a site, and being ex forces I can understand heading/bearing etc.) however due to a stock problem at the store I am waiting for the serial port cable so I can connect it to my laptop, and this is where my first question will arrise, can someone tell me the best software to use to get the co-ords from the website direct to my handheld. and is there any software to back up the device in case of power failure or damage, and is it worth getting a serialport/usb converter. Any other hints, tips, usefull items or basic rules especially UK related will be gratefully rcvd. Thanks in advance
