  1. Oh Brilliant. That worked. Hadn't seen that page before. Now bookmarked. Thank you very much!!!! Paula
  2. Used to be able to zoom right out on map, find the cache then right click and get in that way but that doesn't seem to be working now... ???? I'm premium, he's not, but up til now it hasn't been a problem to get his logs done. Is there some other funky way of doing it? Thank you Paula
  3. Hi Splashy, Nope. In there it just says "No Items"... The other two tabs just show the "Postcodes" one which is installed. Really not sure what's wrong... Wouldn't be something to do with me downloading it to my phone from the PC end would it? Maybe I should have used the phone browser to bring up the link? 1/7 Have now tried reloading and reinstalling the other way and still no maps. Think I might be OK now. Found Navfree in Market (rather than direct from Expansys) and seems to be offering a download maps option... (also a more up-to-date version of Navfree it seems)

  5. Followed the link through to the nuvi feature comparison chart and decided multi destination would be handy if it was affordable. When I related those models back to current prices, I found that we seem to have different model numbers here in UK. Maybe Garmin has a feature comparison page with our model numbers. Will check that next. Thanks
  6. Many thanks for the Freenav tip. Have now installed it from the Expansys site and got the "Ordnance Survey Postcode" software but that was the only thing showing in the Navfree store. I'm assuming I should be picking up the maps in there too. Hopefully someone who's got it can advise. Looking through the Nuvis now... Thanks
  7. Hi all, I'm looking to buy as basic (cheap) as possible a car satnav and I'm not having much luck surfing around. I have two definite requirements (other than UK and maybe rest of Europe maps): - ability to set destination by degrees/decimal minutes, and - ability to work in kilometres (can't get on with miles) I've looked at quite a few sites and these two things don't seem to be mentioned in the technical specs or even in the reviews. I have no idea whether they are standard features or not, but don't want to get stuck with one that's not suitable. My previous satnav, now deceased, was a Targa (from Lidl). That did meet the requirements, but was seriously painful (defective) getting the coords in, so I don't really want to go there again. I use my Android phone sometimes at the mo, but it goes flat too quickly and gets worryingly warm. And it won't go on metric or road-navigate me to the right coords for solved puzzles. Wondering if anyone could make any suggestions. Many thanks mousy
  8. OK... I seem to now be operational. I fiddled with lots of settings, but I doubt that was it. I suspect that it was just taking a VERY long time to find the satellites and I had always got impatient and gone across to other screens and not realised it wasn't still trying while I did that. In the end I left it on a window sill at home for half an hour and when I checked it, we were in sunny England. I went to the first stage of a Wherigo yesterday to test it and it did point the way, beep when I got there and allow me to "grab" the object as I would have expected. It did again take quite a while to start the compass up though. Guess I'll have to remember to switch it on a while before I'm going to need it... mousy
  9. Hello all, I just downloaded the Whereyougo app to my phone a few days ago. I've tried to get started with a couple of different caches but nothing's happening so far. My GPS function is switched on and if I go into my geocaching app (official one) it knows where I am and what my closest unsolved caches are... BUT... when I go into Whereyougo, it seems to think I'm in Prague!!! It brings up the choice of two cartridges, both of which it says are for caches approx 1180 km away. I get similar nonsense when I bring up the compass. I did try to navigate to the first location for one of them using the map to find the right track junction etc, hoping that it might correct once it realised I was there. I got a dot with a fence around it on the map and I'm pretty sure I was in the right location, but didn't get a fix. So I'm wondering why it thinks I'm in Prague and what on earth I can do about it??? Thanks mousy
  10. It's OK now. OH took a look at it and decided we could break it off. We have since managed to get it talking to the PC and a GSAK download done... Of course the GPS is now packed tight with caches and I'm going to have to go and do some so that I've got space to bung one or two in on the fly... Many thanks mousy
  11. You can see the peg more clearly on this shot... http://www.gpsbitz.co.uk/shop/index.php?ac...amp;productId=3 mousy
  12. It sticks out between the middle metal contacts labelled "0" and "1" and is sort of round. It is what's stopping the plug from sliding properly on so that the contacts contact. There is a little hole on the Geko but not in quite the right place to accommodate the peg. The sort of thumb shaped indentation bit is in the way. mousy
  13. Hi, I had an Etrex H and now I have Geko 201. The cable I was using wont slide right on the Geko because of a little black peg bit sticking out. I was just looking at whether I need to get a new cable and I saw that Etrex H and Geko 201 supposedly use the same cable. (I was looking here http://www.i2020.co.uk/p275526/garmin_pc_i...ies.htm?ref=10) So is it just a matter of removing the peg bit that's sticking out? The Etrex has died and is probably unreparable so not likely I'll need the cable for other than Geko now. Thanks mousy PS I don't like the price on the above website so wasn't planning on giving them an arm and a leg anyway...
  14. Wahey... That'll be a big DING then... mousy ps The side of the basin on the left is where they had all the teams' headquarters for the competition and I think from memory the yacht NZ won the Americas Cup with is on display at the red cross.
  15. Southern Hemisphere. Alright, that rules out half the planet then... mousy
  16. Alright... Maybe that was a bit tricky... I'll rephrase... What I want to know is the name of the one at the green X plus the name of the event related to the title. ...and it's a long way from here... mousy
  17. Many thanks, hopefully we're underway now... On this image (which will hopefully appear below) there are two caches. What I want to know is the name of the one at the green X plus the name by which the item in the title is more commonly known. mousy
  18. Having a bit of difficulty here. Have pic ready (saved as jpg) but not sure how to get it here... Just keeps asking for a url. mousy
  19. Does he have an obsession going on then? And do I have to do one now? mousy
  20. Can anyone play this game??? I think it's... Canada Cache – “The Remains of The Wicker Man” GC170VN mousy

  22. Sorted (hopefully). The autofill thing did bring up about 50 possible codes and I found the right one about 20 codes in. It's now all logged on the second cache and all entries re the other one have been removed. Now just have to see where it pops up. Thanks for the suggestion. mousytrap
  23. Thanks. My reluctance to contact the bug owner was only because I could still be wrong about dropping at cache B and it could be A after all. I just felt that on balance of probabilities B was more likely, also that it was better to err on the side of a traditional rather than indicate to all that I might have been in the area doing a puzzle cache, if you know what I mean (rather than one person who actually did the puzzle cache knowing I'd stuffed up). Also the traditional may well get visited tomorrow. Failing that I could drive back over there on Monday (30 mins drive, 15 mins walk) and check if it was in box A. Ta mousytrap
  24. Hi all, I did several caches today and dropped a bug at one of two caches. I logged it as probably dropped on one of them (cache A), however this is a puzzle cache and it's more likely to have been the other (cache where I picked up a bug. I deleted the found log on cache A, then deleted the bug log, but the bug has still not returned to my inventory so I can put it on cache B. I even tried F5 on my account page and logging out of geocaching.com and back in. No joy. Software still thinks it's in cache A. Obviously I no longer have the tracking number to force a shift. Wondering if there's anything else I can try without bugging the cache owner??? Ta mousytrap, who promises to write it down next time...
