Agree about the legend and tree cover . Our Legend bought last year doesn't keep signal under trees or by tall buildings as often as my yellow extrex .But we've got two extrex's and it's only mine that is marginally better than the Legend. We rely on paper maps so don't use mapping facililties ,but find the Legend more convienient than Yellow Etrex for converting WGS84 to OS map reference when doing multi caches ,to plot next location on map .

WHY is Geocaching so addictive?
t.a.folk replied to ryme-intrinseca's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I recently found a farthing on a path .seeing that wren on a coin that took me back to childhood . And yesterday in the veg garden I uncovered a little plastic fish that was from one of my childrens toys from about 25years ago garden . Ah "Man " likes hunting . -
Before this we .ve only seen cache owners mentioning other peoples nearby caches on their cache details .
-
Not found it yet ..but we would be comfortable to log it as a find each time we found it in a different location because it would be a record of our visits .

Sympathies ! Our last submission took us a 4hours in total . First attempt we "timed out " . Second attempt was a basic draught with box unticked for publication so we we could edit afterwards without time restriction . Then edited for the rest of the 4hours and got into a spiral mistakes the harder we tried & still got a significant typo with co-ords .. but we spotted it before publication .(phew )

Easier this way than the other! Oss! Surprisingly we have often found it ain't Thanks for your pointer about the paper friendly option. We /him indoors has just now solved the highlighting problem . He discovered we/I(!) need to start the highlighting a space or so above the cache title . (where is the embarrassed smiley )

Thanks again Ah !Yes the size bit has moved to the top left side . Our paper friendly method for printing cache details minus logs has been by highlighting /print selection method . Since starting thread noticed the size /attributes section doesn't highlight simultaneously with other details using our computer attached the black and white printer . There be us sometimes in micro seeking mode and it turns out to be ammo
-
Thanks Sensei . By doing that the attributes printed but still not the cache size . Think it must be something to do with the computor/printer because the attributes and size section wont highlight on downstairs computor that's the attached to the black and white printer ... but those sections highlight on upstairs computor attached to the colour printer .
-
When we do a print- out of cache details on our black and white printer the Attributes section and the bit above that says what size the container is doesn't show on the printout . Does anyone else encounter this . When we do printouts on our colour printer all is shown .

My guess is the policeman was making notes of some additional hints you were giving him for a couple of caches he had repeatedly d.n.f.'d himself . -

Tell us who you think is the owner... DorsetGal came up with the answer that he drove for Crown Electric, My mum said it was owned by Joseph Barry, after getting a no,no from T.A. Folks I found the answer of "Jim / Glady's Tipler" If you have a definite answer then let the quiz continue (with a hint ), but if you're not sure, then............... Happy to and for someone else to set a different answer ..please !!! Origin of our question was we saw "(2) quote in a book book "A year with YOURS 2007 your essential handbook " (aimed at oldies !) We then double checked answer by googling and found quote "(1)" Answer = Frank Sinatra both times -

Apologies if we have posed a question with more than one answer . We used two sources of reference when posing the question . ( 1) " The trucking company that Elvis worked for as a young man was owned by ? " (2) "Elvis Presley once worked at a trucking company that was owned by ?" Each source had the same famous entertainer as being the owner "?" Sum total of our knowledge , Should we retract the question ? -
