The reason i looked up this thread is because i found 3 caches that had PB jars as a container. i was really impressed with how dry the contents were, even when the outside of the jar was covered in mud. i found a plastic lock container and the log book was damp. The PB jars that i found were the big size and held items and a good size log book. i'm just looking for a good container for SW FL, where we get downpours and areas flood easily. i also like the idea of "reusing" a container instead of buying something new. The PB jars i found were really clean inside. Probably since i'm new, i also liked that i could spot the PB jars red lid. 2 were hidden really well and all i saw was a flash of red! In any case, it's what i decided to use and i got some good tips such as filling the jar with bleach water. It's fun seeing the different containers folks use. Good to know which are best in specific areas. The only thing that you have to make sure of doing is to wash out the container thoroughly and you will be alright. If you put a peanut butter jar out in the woods without washing it, it will be found in a day or two by bears or raccoons and your cache will be destroyed, possibly along with the hiding area!

When you log it instead of selecting did not find select needs maintenance and it will send an email to the owner

So if someone doesn't notice that the cache didn't update they won't look for it because it is disabled.

I use the stop and shop tupperware ham containers.

I try to change up my logs, but they all sound the same. When it is a memorable cache i will describe it though. As long as you try to change it up it isn't that bad.

Isn't there a folder in windows explorer or the mac hd explorer on mac where all of the GPX files are stored? You could just delete them from there

Well you could buy the Garmin Etrex Legend which is around 99$. It is good for beginners but the only things are that you cant do gpx( Not a problem if you aren't a premium member) and it has no expandable memory. Also you have to bring a printout of the cache page to get the description of the cache and the hints and stuff. Good Luck in finding a GPS

I am thinking of buying a new gps. My old one is a Garmin eTrex legend and it is about 4-5 years old and has some loose connections so it won't turn on sometimes or it will just turn off. Also the screen just glitches up sometimes. The one I am looking at is the nuvi 205w. I want to go paperless and want an affordable price, so is this the right one for me?

It will work but I like using the largest I can fit so we don't have to replace them so often. No... I Mean You take like 10 index cards staple them together And cut them to size
