  1. I have a premium membership. I see in the app that I can download a Trail and Street map for off-line use, but I don’t see how to do it. Can someone help?
  2. Got an answer. Thank you @barefootjeff!
  3. Thank you so much! I didn't know a math degree was a requirement! Haha! This is so helpful. Have a great night!
  4. I want to search around a specific location. I got the coordinates by right clicking on the location in Google maps. The coordinates are: 40.251356663083115, -105.82014371233805. I can't figure out how to enter that in the pocket query. There is a drop-down menu with three different format options, none of which seem to match the format Google maps gave me, and don't seem to allow me to enter the - in front of the second number. And how do I know if they are N or S, E or W?. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

  6. Yes, that does makes sense. Thank you. Can I ask you another question on a different topic here, since you are online? :-)
  7. I'm building a pocket query and want to exclude specific attributes. When I click on an attribute to exclude it, it changes from white to black. However, for some attributes, if I click it a second time, it puts a red line through it. Others just go back to white if I click it a second time. See screen shot. How are these treated differently in the filtering? Are only the ones with the red line actually excluded? If so, what happens to the ones that are selected and do not have the red line? I hope this makes sense.
  8. I'm going on a road trip with a friend. I've created a list of caches in the area that fit my criteria. I have the list on my iphone app. My friend is new at this and will be downloading the app to her android phone and I want to share the list with her. I figured out how to make the list sharable and get the link. But if I text or email her the link, how does she get it into the app on her phone?
  9. Just share the PQ's settings url. They can open it and save that PQ under their own account. Hans That sounds like the simplest solution. Thank you.
  10. Oh, yikes. Thank you, I did not realize that! I didn't realize that pocket queries were only for premium members. If they upgrade to premium, then can I share it with them? How would that work? You still are not allowed to share pq's. If they go to PM, then they can run their own pq's. B. Thank you!

  12. I am taking a road trip with some friends and plan to geocache along the way. I am a novice, my friends are beginners. I have created routes on the website, and then created pocket queries for those routes. How can I share those with my friends so we can all see the same thing on our iphones with the Geocaching app? I am a premium member, my friends are all basic members, if that matters. I tried e-mailing the GPX to a friend, but when she tried to open the file on her iPhone, it said there was no app that could open the file. She has the Groundspeak free version of the geocaching app, and I have the paid version. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
  13. Is there a way to have the logs included in the .gpx when doing a pocket query? Maybe they are in there and I just don't know how to access them. I convert the .gpx to a .pdb using GPSBabel and use the .pdb with GeoNiche. At some point, either when doing the pocket query, or when doing the conversion, I would think there would be an option to include logs. Anyone know?
  14. How can you tell how many caches you actually got in a pocket query? I always convert the .gpx to a .ov2 to load into GeoNiche to use on my treo. But in that process, I don't see how to tell how many caches were actually included in that query. When you specify a lot of criteria in a query, obviously you can't always get as many caches as you request. Anyone know?
  15. Thank you Pilotsnipes for putting this together! Very easy to follow. I'm loving my Nuvi 350! I have a silly question for you, or anyone else on the forum who may know. Is it possible to get fun voices for the nuvi, like celebrities? TomTom has some. Just wondering if there are any for Garmin.
  16. Thank you for your reply! I'm so glad/relieved to find someone who uses this. The only thing is that I am a complete newbie to geocaching, and while I'm generally pretty computer-literate and adept with my Treo, you lost me a little with your reply. So, several questions about that: 1. What is babel? 2. What are garmin-like screens? 3. And when you "switch" to GeoNiche, what do you do exactly? Close Navigator and launch GeoNiche? And does GeoNiche then automatically recognize and connect to the GPSr, or do you have to do something else to accomplish that? 4. Just to confirm...the TomTom alone is not capable of getting you all the way to the cache coordinates? 5. Do you do all of this with Pocket Queries? I haven't actually tried any of this yet. I haven't used Pocket Queries, converted GPX files, or anything else really, so...baby steps. I have several other questions and issues...if you don't mind helping me out some more! Do you have Navigator installed on your device, or on an SD card? I have everything on a card, which seems to work fine. Just wondered how you do it, and if it really matters one way or the other? Does your phone ever crash/lock up while you are using Navigator? I went geocaching for the first time last weekend, and it did this several times. I would do a soft reset and it would work for a little bit, but then it would happen again. It was very frustrating. In addition to that, it then couldn't connect to the GPS device for a whole day! I kept trying, but it was searching for a valid GPS. I reset the phone, recycled power onthe GPS, restarted Navigator, but no matter what I did, it wouldn't connect. Has that ever happened to you? And...before you ask, I was outside, and not in heavy forrest. I also want to do paperless caching. Do you do that? I have downloaded and installed Cachemate onto my Treo, but haven't done anything with it yet. Would that be the way to go, or have you found something that works better (if you go paperless).
  17. Does anyone out there have any experience with this configuration? Ever use it for geocaching? I have several problems and questions, but won't get into all of them unless someone uses this. Can anyone help?
