  1. We must have the same reviewer. Went online to publish 2 caches the other day. By the time i had the 2nd one typed up the first one was published! I think it was 3-4 minutes.
  2. i see your point but this person just keeps collecting. right now 30 but in a few months maybe they will have 100 or so trackables if its ignored.
  3. we have a cacher in ne pa that takes every trackable he finds. he has about 30 trackables in only 16 or so finds. then he posts a log saying that they will be held until he wants them to be released. he has never released any. i don't know why this is not a violation. shouldn't the account be banned?
  4. i was just curious as to where you guys had those made for you at?
  5. what a great story!! the previous post is correct. hope your meeting goes great!!
  6. i like the idea. i have never traded for any item like this but for a cache card i probably would. its a neat idea, go with it. some will love it and others will just leave it.
  7. i have a lower end model gps. so i have to kinda plan where i want to go before i leave the house so i can write down the cords. i enter them and see which ones i am closest to then i go to the compass and hopefully the cache.
  8. there are alot of great places to hide them and high up in a tree would be one. i think as long as you let people know what they are getting into by putting down a proper rating it should not be a problem. people either love or hate them.
  9. thats amazing. sometimes i have trouble finding them with the gps. she does have some good geosenses!!!
  10. thats so sad but they are only cheating themselves. kinda pathetic to cheat especially when there is nothing to gain.
  11. i think its ok to visit a cache more than once if you are going to save a tb that has been in there awhile. you gotta keep them moving. what i dont like to see is people seeing them pop up in your cache and running to get it. i think that is in bad taste. just my opinion.
  12. yeah adding the info to the actual tb can help. must be nice to see tb's. seems around here anymore, as soon as one is posted a certain person grabs them. i have a cache that they visited and took both tb's. no big deal. i placed my first in and a guy placed 2 on the same day. as soon as they were in there, these people came back and took all 3 of them. they have soooooo many of them right now. ive never heard of anyone handing it off to a muggle though. strange things happen.
  13. thanks, that page had some very helpful information on it. the screen shot looks amazing with the topo maps. for the price, i think i am leaning towards this. thanks again.
  14. i was checking out a site and the price looks good for the pn-20 model. right now i have a magellan explorist 100. actually the accuracy and performance is great for me but manually inputting all the coordinates gets frustrating. also the fact that i have to know where im going to get the coordinates off the site first is getting old fast. i want to go paperless and the pn20 seems like the cheapest way to go. however, i see that you can download maps for on it too. do i have to download any maps or is it able to be used right out of the box? i understand they offer the cheapest maps out there but i dont really need topo at the moment. the explorist was ready to go from the time i got it and never had any subscription fees to anything. also with the pn-20 can you download the hints along with the coordinates? any of the logs? do you have to purchase anything extra to download the coordinates from gc? also, is it easy to download the information on it? some say garmin is the easiest. thanks.
  15. Hello all. I want to go paperless. I have a lower end gps unit that can not hook up to my computer but i like it and it is accurate. I dont really mind having to enter the coordinates into it. I am completely clueless as to what i am looking for to go paperless and everything sounds foreign to me. I would like to know the easiest way to go paperless. I run windows. I need to keep it simple. I do not want something through my phone because of the cost. I would like if i could hold enough caches, say maybe 200 or so?? I need the easiest cheapest way to do this.I thought maybe a pocket pc and found this one on ebay that caught my eye. Any ideas? Does it seem like a pocket pc is the way to go? This one is refurb and is around $100. thank you for reading. 16. thank you all for your responses. just waiting on permission now. =)
  17. thank you. i will take that into consideration when i rate mine.
  18. Hello! I am looking forward to placing my first cache but when looking into how to rate the cache for difficulty im a little unsure. I understand you can use the rating system on here when you list it but would you rate your cache a little higher than that if it was one of those speciality ones? (like you see on ebay, the bolt, number magnets, blades of grass, sticks, mushrooms, etc) Thanks for your time and feedback would be appreciated.
