  1. I resolve to place a cache that'll make even the most sesoned cacher cringe. HAPPY CACHEN NEW YEAR ALL
  2. oh, oh pick me pick me I want the elverson cache!
  3. I just made a cache container out of a pine cone. I cut it in half hollowed it out, and used paperclips to hold it back togather. I used it in a new multi I just placed.
  4. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Oh my god I stubbed my toe, please send cash! Oh no they're chopping down the rain forest, please send money. OOPS thought this was the fund raising forum. Stop whining and go to RED CROSS.ORG like the rest of us did.
  5. Lucy and Lynn you are in Our thoughts and prayers, hope Lucy gets home safe and it's just a young love thing. I would be going insane if it was gamerboy missing. It's nice to see all of us coming together with offers to help out, and the sending of thoughts and prayers. I'll be checking in here every hour or or so throughout the day and night.
  6. nice new laptop for the car no wireless card needed, so I track my caches in real time with the gps linkand mapsource software.. already have a pda so I can go paperless to the cache.
  7. I recently placed this cache Winter Wonderland cache #1 which is a five stage multi, four micros that are very deviously hidden, and the final stage an ammo box full of goodies. The first four searchers could not find it on their first ties. I spent 3 weeks scoping out the locale of this hide and put alot of thought into it to make it difficult. I am wondering how many other caches are there that are EVIL like this one. What noone knows any god evil caches?
  8. If you check my logs you'll see I do much more caching in winter than in the summer.
  9. What listing? Just curious, since "it's not about the numbers" (not that there's anything wrong with that!) Cool I had never seen this list b4. I knew who #1 was and also #4. Me I am a measely 1883.
  10. I personally try for 20-30 on a power cachin day. I average about 10 a day, and sometimes will only grab 1 if it's on my way somewhere. I go nowhere without first seeking out all caches in the vicinity, then decide which ones I can grab.
  11. I think most cachers follow a basis code of ethics though unspoken.
  12. one of my goals in caching is to find as many of the locationless as possible before they fade away. Please email me I'd love to try it.
  13. I just hid an out in open micro cache. The idea for this one is the challenge of even finding the container. It's not amazingly hard, any really experieced cacher would find it,but some less experienced cacher may not. there really is no gaurd rail or light posts in the area so that leaves very little choice as to where to look. The camo I used blends so well with the spot of the hide it is a challenge.
  14. I leave my sig item for people to collect, if I am leaving it just for the cache owner I'll write it in the log book and post it in my online log.
  15. I know this cache well, and you were way off, the tunnel is nowhere near the cache.
  16. I wouldn't hold my breath on the request.Given the guidelines i would say your situation would be exception rather than the rule. Depending on when the guideline was put into place would obviously have a bearing on how many times the problem will come up. Request away! Good luck. Hopefully the email solves your current problem. I would agree that my request is not the norm, but maybe some day. I can only dream!
  17. I found such data on-line earlier this year in the GIS world (in the public domain). I think it is called a "Road" layer. I also had to find a (free) viewer to view the GIS data, but I found all the major roads in California (but not labled) in an ASCII file (1288k). But I had to stop pursuing this for creating arcs because it is raw data and I don't have the time to sort through the very large dataset to find what I need. So if you go the route of working with GIS data, then it will still be a project for someone to convert the vectors into something user-friendly. I use mapsource software and microsoft streets an maps to create my own.
  18. ok... but how do you explain wanting to run around the woods looking for boxes containing mostly keep trinkets and kids toys? totally sane rational behavior performed by otherwise crazy peole?
  19. perhaps the Emailing them thing would work, but that does not address the topic I posted. I'd like to see that feature added to PQ's so I don't have to go through all of that happy horse s***. PQ's are supposed to make our lives easier, if you can query the database from the user profile page, you should be able to hit the database with the same search criteria from a PQ. It would just be nice , I do know how to find the info the old tedious way, I am just darn lazy and would like to have the work done for me.
  20. you are also limited on the number of caches you can return, how many caches do you think there are from the tip of Florida to the top of MAine?
  21. The radius feature in the PQ's is limited, the user I have in mind has caches all up and down theeast coast, arount 3000 miles. you are also limited on the number of caches you can return, how many caches do you think there are from the tip of Florida to the top of MAine?
