  1. New question, What did HQ learn & like about the Canadian/Norwegian experiment? Did the logs get longer? Did people spend more time reading cache pages? (More cache page clicks=more ad revenue?) Just curious.
  2. -You think there could possibly be MORE "TFTCs" (&/or copied and pasted logs?!) I certainly hope not. But then again I spent my first year writing logs i thought no one would read. And had no idea how often people would search logs for clues. (I know more now so I write more now.) -I think the majority of players (new and old) are mostly interested in the most recent logs. Then if they are useless (TFTCs or copy/paste) they might sort by 'Helpful.' Which i think is.......helpful. (ha?) But maybe we're talking about two different things here, cachers in the field who need help finding the cache VS cachers sitting at a desk reading logs in their spare time....? Either way i agree with your 2018 post about how much time/energy you put into a log just to never see it again. - I think i can agree to this. lol But then again i catch myself looking at cachers 'log similarity' & 'average log length' often enough so i could see this being quantified. Overall I think i'm going to like this. Cache Owners get rewarded with favorite points. Why not try to reward a log writer? Although my initial Request still stands, why not notify the log writer? (How else will they know their log was appreciated?)
  3. I love it. But i have a Feature Request: Inform the log writer of an upvote! The very first line of HQs blog/FAQ is; "At Geocaching HQ we want to encourage the sharing of fun, helpful, and inspiring logs" I'd say there's not much incentive to write a 'fun helpful or inspiring' log if the log writer never receives feedback. I am looking forward to this nonetheless.
  4. Dear HQ, I love using the new Dashboard and seeing what my geocaching friends are out doing.... But I do NOT like seeing all their TravelBug discoveries. (Sorry guys but you're logging too many via facebook these days. lol) I humbly suggest that you add a way to turn this feature off. Thanks for listening! -2RPs
  5. I know everyone is dying to know if this ever got resolved. Well stop what you're doing because here's what I found out. Via an email from Hans at project-gc; Hi 2RPs,thank you for contacting us.It appears to have changed a few meters, yes.Hans--Project-GC Support Haha. Love it! Thanks Hans!
  6. I don't know? lol EDIT: I mean doesn't project-gc get their info from HQ?
  7. Any idea how I can find out if the elevation got changed on this virtual? GC7BA4H I swear it had been our lowest geocache found but sometime within the last few weeks it disappeared from our ten lowest on project-gc. Just curious. It doesn't change any other stats that i noticed. Thanks for the help. -2RPs
  8. Our favorite point total has not caught up yet. We found over 20 geocaches on the weekend of 3/30 and never earned any favorite points. (I know this because we always give out all our favorite points as soon as we earn them.)
  9. Has the problem resolved? We're in the same boat. We're missing two favorite points earned over the last few days.
