  1. I have used an Etrex Vista for the last 5 months and LOVE it. But then again, I have not tried any other brands so I don't have anything to compare with. One thing I did notice about my vista is that if I get in a heavily wooded area, I have to turn off WAAS in order to get a decent signal. In Fact, I have decided to pretty much operate with WAAS turned off most of the time and have not seen any ill effects. You may want to turn it off in the setup menu and see if that helps....
  2. Thus we will see new stats....Double Finds and Tripple Finds.....
  3. Gee, maybe we could write the writers of the show and suggest it. Would be some great press. Bet the website hits would go thru the roof......
  4. Go to the site listed below and sign up for the New Cache alert service. It will send out an e-mail usually pretty quick once a cache has been approved. Skydivers New Cache Alert Tool Baptist Deacon
  5. What, there is a way to list them????? Do Tell.....
  6. Ok. Maybe someone can explain this to me. Why would anyone want to "Hammer the site with automated bots"?? Is this some sort of data collection deal, or did we really tick off someone and they are trying to take the servers down in revenge?? Baptist Deacon
  7. Ok, I will chime in on this subject, seeing as I got my FTF this morning.... My First To Find Baptist Deacon

sure would be nice if there was a neat little utility or web page that continously updates itself showing the status of the Pocket Query Generator. Something where we could check ourselves and see how far down the que we are and the such. Sorry, just letting my fingers daydream.....
  10. I tried plucker and could not get it to work on my visor. Try Cachemate...Simple and extremely easy to use. Well worth the registration fee.
  11. I am an Electronics Technician for the QuikTrip Corporation. For those of you who don't know who QuikTrip is, they are a Convenience Store/Gas Station chain currently in 8 or 9 markets. When I am not working on the 238 computer that I have networked together, or working on the electronic tank monitors, I fix anything else that is broke in the store. This includes Coffee Pots, Cappuccino machines, soda fountain, frozen drink machines, ice makers, light fixtures, toilets and anything else my boss tells me to do. And my name is because I am an Ordained Deacon at my Church.
  12. if I remember correctly, Jeremy stated in another thread that the "My Cache Page" was on his list of things to do. He stated that they were working on some new items for the Premium Members and that when they were ready they would revise that section of the website.
  13. Would be nice if it had in import feature. That way one could download a gpx file from the site that had all my found caches in it and then import it. When I click on the import button, all it will allow me to select is skins.
  14. Opens up a whole new catagory...... It's not a traditional, virtual or micro.....it's a............it's a..............................it's a "Lovers Cache" A cache placed with the sole purpose of proposing Marriage. Probably only works for the First to Find though......
  15. Hey, Owl dude.....this sounds like a challenge...what do you think? It should not take too long to make it to 100. We should find out soon.
  16. With everything that has been said concerning the sport of geocaching and mixed run ins with park managers and the such, would it be possible for us to come up with an "Adopt a Park" policy or program? It has worked for the Department of Transportation in many states with the "Adopt a Road" program. Maybe the organized state organizations for geocaching could spearhead the efforts. Just a thought. Maybe if they see that we are serious about helping maintain the parks they would be more open to allowing geocaching. Again, it's just a thought. Just imagine entering a local park and seeing a sign below that read "This park maintained with the assistance of the Georgia Geocachers Association" Note, I only used Georgia as an example. I think it would be pretty good press.
  17. I heard that only Premium Members will have access to the forums......
  18. Wonderful spell checker. Glad someone pointed it out. Works great.
  19. Word of advice....."Don't eat the Yellow Snow"
  20. Posting it in the log was not a good idea. Sending it to you in an e-mail suggesting that you perform a little maintenance on the cache would have been a better idea. Properly worded e-mail of course.....
  21. OK, but you would have to have one of the motion activated web cams to take pictures so that we all could see their expression. Kind of like the magician that pulls 200 ft of colored handkerchiefs out of his sleeve....
  22. WoW, I did not know that you could search google and get geocaching results. That is pretty cool.
