  1. I've got 5 years and 30,000 miles out of my RAM mount and GPS V and later a 60CS. It is a good product.
  2. That covers it. Dreamland for lunch City cafe for breakfast or lunch Taco Casa - do they still have atomic sauce? 15th St Diner for breakfast Cypress Inn for Dinner
  3. Try turning the Compass off - with the compass page displayed press and hold the "Page" button. Repeat to turn the compass back on.
  4. Thanks for the replies. Loss of waterproof would not be good. I have had the unit for a while. Garmin it is.
  5. My USB connector on the back of the 60cs pulled part way out of the case when removing the USB cable. I could push in back flush. I have to "wiggle" the cable and hold my mouth just right to get it to connect. Has anyone opened up the case or is this a repair for Garmin?
  6. I would guess that the uptime for the site exceeds 99.++% 24/7/365. If the site is down when I check it, I just try back later.
  7. I plan on watching the lift off live! When the shuttle clears the horizon, it is like the sun coming up. We live about 150 miles North of the Cape.
  8. There are several good ones on Little and Big Talbot Island, just North of Jacksonville. Look up GC219.
  9. Page to the map page, hit menu, select setup map. pick the information icon. The maps that are in the memory are listed here.
  10. The latest (last) update for the 60cs is GPSMAP60CS_410 dated 6/26/06
  11. I too have been using a 60cs for some time, and have noticed this same condition you speak of. I did not make a firmware connection (ver 4.10 6/26/06) which is entirely possible, but I thought it had something to do with the heading settings, "switch to compass heading when below (10mph) for more than (15 sec)" (my settings) 10 sec was default. I ttake this to mean the Compass, if off, will come on when traveling below 10mph for more than 15 sec. The manual does not talk much about the Heading setup page. I'm thinking I need to disable the compass while geocaching. You can press the "Page" button while on the Compass page to enable/disable the Compass. Maybe increasing the time will do this.
  12. I use pocket queries to make .gpx (not gfx) files and download them into my Garmin 60cs from Mapsource all the time(Now City Navigator v8). I use Expertgps and GSAK to do the same. I like the routing functions in Mapsource. Easy or Expert GPS should work across brands.
  13. 368. I have found 204, 164 remain. The nearest is 32 miles away.
  14. I have that 4.10 firmware installed on my 60cs, and it has served me well for many miles and caches.
  15. Thanks for the info. I would'nt mind paying for it since POI loader files are not compatable with my "old" 60CS.
  16. I am looking for a user of the Harley Davidson Road tech Quest GPSr. I am sure it is a Garmin Quest. I am looking for a gpx file of all the Harley Dealerships that comes loaded in the Quest. Thanks Jeff
  17. My closest unfound caches are: GCVDRV 38 miles to the North. GCB047 48 miles to the West. GCVZF8 38 miles to the South. GCW2TQ 4367 miles to the East. Hope to extend the distance South today to 52 miles.
  18. Here is some info that should help. http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=Hopkinsville,+KY N36 51.858 W087 29.750 Hopkinsville, KY 42240 GCKHJG is a nearby cache. Good luck. I went to a eclipse of the moon several years back. The point of greatest eclipse was way out in the middle of nowhere. When we got there, at midnight, there were many, many people there.
  19. There are some good caches in SW GA in Thomasville, Baninbridge, Albany, and a few in Valdosta. There are plenty of caches in NE FL (one of the oldest in FL is on Amelia Island) and SE GA. Try the new C.A.R. (Caches Along a Route) and enjoy!
  20. My Eden cache is the next cache I go out and look for! I have enjoyed so many of the places that caching has taken me, and I look forward to the next one.
  21. You are right about the glitch. It only affects tabs.
  22. When I click on the link above and the same notification on the GGA, I get some sort of pop up about viruses. It has corrupted my IE 7 browser. Beware!
  23. I have installed this update. The time to lock seems to have improved. Time will tell.
  24. Thanks That was a very practical comparison. I think I will keep my 60cs a while longer.
