  1. This may be a bit off topic, but it is a pet peeve of mine that some cache owners rate their caches a "1" and then leave no hint and/or leave the cache size a "?" so that you have no idea what you're looking for. I think if someone rates a cache under 2, then 99% of the people going for it should be able to find it on the first try. After all, I think the point of Geocaching is actually FINDING a cache. (off soap box now).
  2. Thank you for this information. I'm considering placing a few new caches, and this is very timely.
  3. One thing I would be a little concerned about is someone selling something who has little or no history at a forum. I realize that a newbie could be perfectly trustworthy...like me!
  4. Tiwica gave a very good method for entering cache coordinates. I did this very same method for nine local caches. I printed out the information, and "named" them C-1, C-2, etc.; creating a new waypoint for each one. Since all the caches were pretty local, I only had to change some of the coodinates. I'd suggest taking a bit more time to "play" with your new toy. This is what I have been doing: Make my house a waypoint and walking/driving around the neighborhood. Create other waypoints, and then try to navigate back to them, etc. Carry your GPS with you wherever you go for awhile. Get really familiar with it. Your mileage may vary..... Mike
  5. I got a Garmin E-Trex GPS for Christmas. I have spent the last few days getting familiar with it, and find the operation pretty intuitive and easy to use. I have yet to actually look for a cache with it, but I intend to do so in the near future as time allows.
