  1. He apparently copped a plea about 40 minutes in, avoiding the death penalty.
  2. How about Poison Oak or Scorpions or Lima Beans? poison oak -- itchy scorpions -- OK, I hate them, too. Thankfully, since we left AZ, we don't have them anymore. lima beans -- yummy...
  3. OMG... Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What have they done???

  5. I suppose they don't even have Yiffers done right. Course, that would probably offend the people who write in to papers and complain Dagwood kissing Blondie at the door is too racy and got their heart all a-flutter and dander up. I had to google yiffer to find out what you were talking about. The fact that you know the word is a thing that makes me say, "hmmm"... obviously you missed that entire CSI episode...
  6. MICRO!!!!! nevermind.... just a lock... in a cemetery.... I like the reflector thing, though
  7. oops... psycho cacher.... not gonna give the "sport" a good name... OUCH!!! His daughter???
  8. a google search for "global caching" brings geocaching.com to the front of the list...
  9. I'm watching!!! With the exception of the kinda nerdy kid, they aren't making it look like a geeky activity. He found the "urban cache" awfully fast, though.
  10. I would think swag items could also be different according to the region. This time of year, we tend to drop hand warmers into containers for the winter cachers. We buy them in bulk as we use them for skiing, etc. in the winter months. Also, we start adding individually wrapped bug wipes. In the spring, the best thing I found was one of those as the black flies were attacking my neck. Thank you whoever you are.
  11. Oreo T. Dog decided to chase a porcupine the other day.... Didn't end well... a mile back to the trail head, and another mile or so down to the parking lot. Thirty five minute drive to the vet, and a $450 bill. I don't know what we could have done differently, except for keep her leased. Usually she's pretty good at listening, I don't know what got into her this time. Vet says they never learn.
  12. FWIW, depending on where I am going and what terrain features are nearby, the map feature can be pretty useless. Get out in the woods with no water feature and minimal terrain changes and all I see is a big brown blob. Garmin topo maps leave a lot to be desired. Keeping the tracking on all the time is kinda a pain, too, as I tend to turn on the unit while we are still driving to ensure we have a good lock before we get to wherever we're going. So, I wind up with road tracks. I have gotten into the habit of hitting the mark before before I get out of the car. I usually will turn on the tracking at this time, too. With these two, as long as the GPS holds a lock, I can always find my way out easily. Still trying to figure out the MOB feature. I see the point if you need to drop a waypoint fast, as in if someone falls overboard, as it immediately begins to track on that point. I haven't quite figured out what the point is, though, as I want to navigate to a geo-cache, first. Then, I need to go into a serious of steps to reset the tracking to the MOB waypoint. Seems to be much easier just to "mark" the car, then navigate to the geo-cache, then put the curser on the car, and hit "go-to". I'm probably missing something, though.
  13. How does this work? Don't you need a waypoint to "find"?
  14. The 60csx has a trackback option, but if you don't turn the tracking on, it's kinda useless. To turn the tracking on, hit the page button until you get to the main menu. The track icon on mine is in the upper left hand corner. Highlight the track button and hit enter. In the upper right hand corner, there is a place to toggle on/off. Highlight on and push enter. Go walk around the neighborhood or something and when you page to the map screen and zoom in a lot, you should see a bunch of red dots. That's the track, and it's like dropping breadcrumbs. When you get a bit from the house, go back to where you turned on the tracking. Highlight trakback and hit enter. It'll ask you to pick a point. You can either use your house (which is where you came from) or some other point. You'll see it calculate your route. If you want to save your route, remember to highlight save and push enter. Then you can upload your route to mapsource on your computer. Hope this all makes sense. Of course, the easiest thing to do is hit the "mark" button before you get out of the car. It'll drop a flag where you are. then you can just use the "go to" feature when you want to return to the car. Hope this helps.
  15. hand sanitizer... you have no idea how many times I wished I had just a squirt...LOL
  16. It wont start calculating miles until the 2nd cache its placed in. Your starting point will be 1 of 2 caches I'm using for start points. So just activate the coin, send it to me and wait until June 27th. If you don't want your coin(s) showing up in your inventory mark it as missing(upper right part of coin page in the bottom of the box) and I will just grab it from you later, which I have to do anyways. That won't effect anything. Hope this helps. Great... explains it all. Got my coins drilled and activated and hopefully will get them out in the mail tomorrow.
  17. OK, noob question. How do I activate the coin with 0 miles. Once I add a location, won't it show the miles between me and the cache it is placed in?
  18. OK, so i have to drill some coins. How big do the holes need to be??
  19. Is there time to still get in on this? New coins finally arrived. If yes, I need an email to send the racers. TIA WW
  20. I want to play... Hopefully, I can get my coins out in time.
