  1. I'm just chiming in so that Groundspeak will pay their Outlook/Google, etc bills and get the calendar up and running again. WE REALLY NEED THIS FEATURE. Well, at least I sure do.
  2. What is the best possible scenario for a busy day? 11? 12?
  3. ATTENTION ALL PEOPLE ON THIS THREAD! How do I get everyone's attention? I was alerted by a dear geocaching friend that my profile was a subject here, so even though I'm not so great with these forums, I must say that I did attend the mega event this weekend in New Jersey. BTW, they did a great job! I went there as I was on my way to EWR to catch a flight to PHX. I got 9 of the Lab caches and ran out of time for the 10th one because I needed to get on that 4:45 flight and stop at Costco, too. So, knowing that the Lab caches have an 8 day life, and I enjoy those, I got as many as I could and ran off. I even took pictures of the assembled cachers because I got there just in time to take a picture of the group. A number of cachers I know I ran into and told them I had to hurry so I could catch a plane (mmacgown, sakiman, halley cat, cotton malone (first time I met him and it was at his created Lab cache), catching caches, and Barry...). I am usually in a hurry and I'm anal about how I log my caches, so I've been putting "log to come" or something similar so I could write about my experience with the cache find later. I've discovered I have to at least log that because once a cache is archived and locked, I may have missed out on logging a well deserved find! It happened to me in Massachusetts this summer with the traveling cache that's a mailbox. Boy was I angry about not logging it right then and there. As of now, I'm detailing logs (chronologically) from July 1, 2016 and I have most of Geowoodstock and the mega event up in Mass to log! Yikes! These are taking forever because my thing is finding virtuals and those require sending answers to questions and waiting for an okay from the cache owner. I didn't get any other caches at this weekend's Mega event because they will always be there and the ones I happen to run into while grabbing Labs were ones from previous years that I already found. Although I did get the big bison in the tree when I went back this morning after an all-night flight back from PHX plus I got that last Lab cache. Yippee! Anyway, I have no idea what archived cache you are referring to because everyone knows that if I don't have a picture of the cache or the signed log sheet, I don't log it. That's my rule because it may take months before I actually log it. In other news, my husband and I both fly a lot. He's an American Airlines captain and I get to fly for FREEEEEE because he's been flying a million years. So, you see, I can be in several states in one day. I could possible get a cache in PA, then drive through NJ and stop for a cache, then NY before I board a flight to LAX, PHX, SFO, (or even to Lubbock, Texas and drive to Roswell, NM where my son goes to school and get all those states in one day and still have time for dinner), or where ever and still get to the west coast before noon (although I'm getting to old for that). Now, about that 14 year old cache... what the hell one is that? Does the log say something like "log to come" or similar? Send me an email or message me because if it's a lame cache log of mine, THEN I'VE MESSED UP ON A CACHE LOG. And I'll go back and check my notebook. So let me have a look at it and I'll take care of it. Mmacgown once told me I had double logs... but now I know how to fix those with the new fancy applications people have written. You see, I've been geocaching since 2003 and am not much of a numbers cacher, but I do like to go out and find them. I have only 8,500 or so finds. BTW, I have done PA, NJ, NY, TX, NM in one day. I did it for the hell of it (bragging rights??) HA! BTW again, I had to go to PHX to open up our house to winter visitors who are renting it. Didn't want to stay long, but I did get 40+ of the Stickman (Kokopeli) cache art in north Scottsdale since I already finished the $ cache art two weeks ago when I was out there. So, please let me know the cache number for that old cache or whatever it was, and I'll look so see which one I SHOULD have typed in. Happy trails! Oh, don't be alarmed if you see me logging Florida caches this week. I have to go down to our condo and get it ready to rent out for the high season. It's right on the beach in Hillsboro Beach so I'll be getting a few near the Embassy Suites off A1A and Hillsboro Blvd. Too many I've been wanting to get. Sounds like you're a busy geocacher having one heck of a good time. I hope the individuals who made these awful, false inferences about your motivations and your character feel duly ashamed of themselves for jumping to conclusions and being so hurtful toward other geocachers. You're so kind. Actually, I probably would have jumped to the same conclusions. However, people who know me know how long I take when I go geocaching with others. I take a screen shot of the page (I now cache with my iPhone exclusively unless I go out of the country), then of the cache and it's surroundings, and then the log with my signature on it. It takes time, but it may take months before I replace that "log to come" with the actual log and story. BTW, how do I post pictures here on the thread?

  5. 6. We are traveling to Rome March 4-24 and are looking for the "must see/must get" geocaches. Any Italians or otherwise have recommendations? We'll stay in Rome in a flat but will go out on adventures (Venice, etc). Any help is appreciated!
  7. My goodness, Po, it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating your 3,000th find at Skully & Mulder et al.'s & Bladebabe event in honor of your 3,000th find: GCKEKC. I'll have to get another cake ready for the big event!
  8. This works for me!! My first generation iPhone now has a purpose
  9. If it's a waste of your time. It's a waste of everyone else's time to look on your behalf. Good luck finding your PDA. I just posted this note because I'm hoping someone picked it up and is looking on the forums for the owner.

  11. HELP! I lost my HP Pocket PC just north of GWVI the day of the big event. I know I must have lost it between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Some of the possible cache locations where I may have lost it are: GCX5PB GC19GBV GC19GCO "No Lies" At one of the temporary cans with cards in it GC1886B "oakley" GC1885Y Spell Woodstock GC15GDG Talking Tree GCX008 S. Beale GC154RR "Sweep" GC14Q3T Electric GCWG1M Angels I am sure it will be a waste of time to go back. Either it has been smashed by a car or trampled by a cacher. I'm hoping for neither!
  12. I will soon be releasing into the wild a new coin given to me by a junior geocacher. I think she may know how much I love kids, so I'm really doing this in honor of her. I'm debating whether to release the original coin because of all the thieves out there now. But in order to have a good contest, I think I need to release the original instead of a proxy. What do you all think about releasing just a proxy? Any opinions on my rules? Take a look at the coin and the contest at http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=1413974 or just look at my page of trackables to find it there.
  13. I'm too bossy to add any advice. I always boss our attendees around. Do THIS! Find THAT! Go HERE! Now go THERE! They're all tired of me. Ask AVROAIR!
  14. Geeze, I'm a little embarrassed here with some folks not knowing what it is... We host the Annual Shotgun Start Event each year here in northeast Pennsylvania. We have everyone start at the same time, but not at the same spot. Take a look at the descriptions of the last three shotguns we've had by going to our page and clicking on our sponsored event icon. There you can peruse our event descriptions. The first one in 2004 was with a waterfalls theme, the second one in 2005 was state game lands and the one we just had in 2006 was the AT (Appalachian Trail). We're planning this fall's shotgun with a biking winery theme, but this could change. I've been horrible at getting the word out on these events only because I limit it to 10 teams and it's not very kid-oriented (I save that for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt Event). So keep your eyes open in August for the unimoggers' announcement. Not in the forums, but just by having the event posted on gc.com. BTW, the AT event was a BEAR and more like an endurance event! Just ask a participant...
  15. For what it's worth, our Pocono Shotgun Start Event 2004's theme was waterfalls of northeast PA. The shotgun brought cachers to 10 waterfalls. There are more on National Parks Lands or private property where we couldn't place caches and are worth mentioning... Raymondskill Falls, Bushkill to name a couple. All those waterfall caches are still in place.
  16. Hey, Po, we would have baked you another cake!
  17. Once again, I'm threatening to come to Seattle for the APE. I cannot rest another month. I'd flip if it was archived without me getting it. My husband would have to have me committed. Therefore, I have made plans for a May 3-4 rendevoux. I cannot stay for the Spring Fling, which really bugs me, because I have to catch a 1:15 p.m. flight to Newark in order to pick up the MiniMoggers from their grandparents. It will be a highly unorganized frenzy trip and if all we get to is the APE, so be it. It will be my most expensive cache find, next to the French trains locationless cache that we HAD to get up in Vermont a couple of years ago. Any words of encouragement out there? Caroline "MommieMogger" Strasser
  18. All I can say is, God Bless You, DocDiTTo! I just found out I have these grids 39,40,51,52,53,54,55,61,62,65,66,67,68,77,78,79,80,81,82,90,96 with a million more to go. Geeze, I hope this cache is not archived by the time I get to it!
  19. We've been quiet lately, but have around for a while. We're the Pocono Geocachers. Not a fancy name, but more than two years ago we adopted a portion of 191 in the Adopt-a-Highway program and are STILL waiting for the highway department to put up our sign. They've had the sign for nearly two years... ahhh progress. We post pictures of past events at: http://groups.msn.com/PoconoGeoCachers We'll be posting pictures of the Third Annual Easter Egg Hunt just as soon as we have it on Saturday, April 14. Also, we have adopted a maple tree at the Meesing Center which has a very difficult geocache nearby. JennyCaz created a logo a while back and one of these days I'm going to get it up on the site. That's about it!
  20. Mark, you are such a great guy. Does Rose know she married such a one-of-a-kind? Thanks for putting this thread together. Helmut would have been doing the same for you, dude! Anyway, I posted a note trying to see if I can un-register my coin I had promised to give to Helmut after your Joker's event. I tried to find him at your G.O.N.E. event, but I missed him. I originally thought I'd put that coin into circulation in memory of Helmut, but I really want it to be a fund-raiser for Liz and the girls. It's a Geowoodstock III coin. It still has Helmut's name on it. I will send it to the Mueller fund address so that you can manage it. It has all the codes on it. You're great! God bless you! Caroline, MommieMogger
  21. Geeze, if you're still counting, I just found this thread. There are 4 unimoggers (MrMogger, MommieMogger, MiniMoggerOne and MiniMoggerTwo). We are in Stroudsburg, Monroe county, NEPA.
  22. I have a coin I activated that I would love to unactivate. I want to give it to someone else so it can be their coin. Is there a way to do that?
  23. I am so sad after reading about Helmut passing at such an incredibly young age. I have in my geocaching backpack a coin I kept promising to give to him because I was so grateful he gave me one of his Avroair coins at one of Avroair's events. I never was able to find the time to hide it for him. I kept emailing him back and forth, letting him know I was going to hide it somewhere and email him the coordinates so only he could find it. He said don't worry about it. The Avroair coin was a gift with nothing in return. That's the kind of guy he was. I will be releasing his coin in his honor, here in Arizona where I am until June, and I hope people keep it in circulation in his memory. It is a Geowoodstock III coin. To Liz and the girls, you have my deepest sympathy and prayers. You have such a lovely family... I remember how you girls played with the MiniMoggers at Stayfloopy's 3000th Cache party and at other events. I really wish I could be in New Jersey to say goodbye.
