  1. Can't speak to the BB but I have a Touch and use the Geosphere app with it. Love it. Gives me descriptions, logs and hints, if you use them. Plus the tunes in the field too. :-)
  2. I bought the Geosphere app for my touch. Gives me all the info I need in the field and it's simple to use.
  3. +1 Almost exactly. I get all the social interaction that I need in other areas of my life. While my wife will occasionally join me and I love it when she does, for the most part it's just me....

    Rude response

FTM42, like many endeavors there is a twit factor. Unfortunately you happened to find one on your first hunt. It is not the norm in this sport though. Keep on plugging away at it.

    Enduring Love

Great looking coin. How did you do the initial design? Is it a pencil drawing on a piece of paper or is there some software that you use to design a coin? Mike
  6. As a Geocacher, your responsibility for a travel bug ends when you physically place the bug in another cache. Giving them to a stranger to place is just asking for trouble. I know we would all like to think that our fellow cachers are trustworthy and want to do the right thing but it just don't work that way. While I'm sure your intentions were good, there are three bug owners out there with missing bugs now. You could call him out publicly on the forums, but it's way to easy to change a user name and/or open a new account for that to be any real deterrent. I hope they do the right thing but it doesn't look good.
  7. You have the Garmin, get an ipod touch, or a pda of some kind and download all the logs and such to it. I use the 60csx and a touch and it works great for me. Also, the 60csx will do turn by turn. Just select on road when selecting the waypoint or route. Mike

  9. I bought a bunch of blank "wooden nickel" blanks and a rubber stamp. I stamp them, sign my handle on the back. I'm not a big swag collector but I do like collecting signature items. Mike
  10. Awesome coin design. Put me on the list of would love ones also. Mike
  11. Probably a stretch, but have you tried Radio Shack? We have an old electronics store here in town that could probably order one also. I'd be happy to take mine by and let them look at the connectors to see if they could order them. Mike
  12. Been using an old smallish backpack that I've had for years, but after reading this thread, I'm going out to hunt down a sling tomorrow.
  13. Don't do that bro. I got ya from the start. My dad is a HAM from way back. He collected many thousands of QSL cards in his time and your comparison is right on track. I'll be leaving wooden nickels as calling cards too. Can't afford Geocoins or Pathtags. I thank you for that. Its the first time I used a forum and I think I will set back and be quit lol.
  14. Ditto on the like it. Silver/Copper/Gold/Bronze in a matte or satin finish would look great.
  15. I'm wearing some Columbia's. Put about 5 miles on them today in the hills. No problems at all.
  16. Justin, When you get withing 20 or so feet, stash your GPSr and just stop. Slow down and look around. I think we tend to get excited and want to hurry it along once we get "this close". Maybe worrying about muggles and others that might see us. If you stop and just gander around, you will start to see what is in the immediate vicinity that would offer a good geospot. Just look for the gspot...... :-)
