  1. Yes, the #8 is really pretty opaque, but it's a sample and maybe it looks nice Other 4 samples are - antique gold + #4 - antique copper + #11 - gold + #14 and a - two-tone nickel + satin gold without transparent color Each with hopefully matching PMS colors. First I want to see samples in hand. After that I'll choose final versions. I'm not sure about starting a reservation or doing a sale. Hope to have them in hand end of April for shipping (or maybe middle of April without reservation).
  2. As I already wrote on email, I really like the "Egyptian Ankh" Is there any chance to see and get this one in near future?
  3. After several mails with mint I'm happy to show you a sneak peak of a new geocoin: Platons Atlantis Geocoin Probably you all have heard about Atlantis, a naval power sank after loosing a big fight against Athens. Atlantis sank into the ocean "in a single day and night of misfortune". In 360 BC, Platon first mentioned it in his dialogues „Timaeos“ und „Critias“, talking about the rise and fall of this huge empire. (To learn more about Atlantis just visit Wikipedia, very interesting!!) On front of this coin you can see Platon, in the back a excerpt from "Critias". Framed by a meander and Platons name written in ancient Greek under his head. Sunken Atlantis is shown on back how it maybe has looked like described in "Critias". Both, Platons head and Atlantis, are in 3D, and Atlantis is covered with transparent color to get a "underwater" look. Mint got a "GO" for 5 samples and I'm really excited they will look like. Samples are in hand end of March, pictures from mint maybe earlier. And many many thanks to my friend GATOULIS, who helped me a lot with the greek part of this coin! THANKS! THANKS! THANKS!
  4. It's called "Geocaching Ortungsdienst Badge"
  5. Awesome idea!! Really excited to see artwork from mint and samples Maybe I'll participate later... Stefan
  6. I did some research in the past but could not find a clear answer about additional armor or the weapon (bow or crossbow). To make this coin look like found and displayed in Xi'an, I do not want to add parts maybe haven't been to this archer when he was built 2200 years ago. Moved the "track at .. " into the head to get some space and trackingcode is now written on a chinese roll. Do you like it?
  7. The black line surrounding the colored areas. This should be black nickel plating, right?
  8. Sweet coin Hope the lines are not too tiny. Ary idea the backside will look like? Stefan
  9. Got two request to post current artwork so here wo go:
  10. short update: Got an artwork from mint, telling me text on backside is too tiny for recessed (like some of you expected) --> I'll change backside this weekend and hope to post final artwork on monday. In addition to this I'm waiting for an answer about possible two-tone platings
  11. If I look at my samples it looks like this: - gold (or polished gold): polished on first and second level - foggy gold: polished first level and foggy second level - satin gold: "foggy" first and second level What is shiny plating? Mint told me it does not tarnish and should be ussed instead of satin gold. So satin and shiny looks like same? If I look at Bewitched Geocoin "Gold + Foggy Gold" Photo, isn't this only a foggy gold plating? What is the difference between first level foggy gold and first level polished gold?
  12. my top 4 (or 11?) are: - BRAHEAN 3-tone LE OR 2-tone AE OR mars OR neptune - TITANIC satin silver OR one of the other silver daytime - BIRKA gold + foggy gold (SG02-4) OR 2-tone gold & silver + color (SG02-1) - CELTIC TREE OF LIFE Blue on .925 Shiny Silver OR Blue on .925 Shiny Silver & Brass 2-Tone I do not believe to get one of them but maybe someone will hear my prayers
  13. Just to let you know, I ordered some remints of Thurus Geocoin and a couple of new samples. Hope to get them till middle of March.
  14. I'll try to finish final artwork till sunday to get a quote next week (and hope the artwork is possible to mint). If price is ok, I'll give OK for molds and hope to get samples middle of March --> Sale probably middle of April. Two editions came to my mind so far: "Sweet Candy": polished nickel + pearl colors "Dark Temptation": polished gold + brown colors (for chocolate) any other ideas?
  15. spent some time ... now with overlapping lid please post your feedback
  16. The two preforms are too big, thats right.. the "nano" too... I'll probably reduce them by 50% to get some more different cache containers inside the box I'm sure lots of people have personal relationships with those *** hollow screw caches... Not sure how well they can be represented on your coin, though. I'll try my best
  17. Thanks for your feedback Do you know other typical cache containers? L&L-Box ?
  18. I had the idea of a bow too but I wasn't able to draw a bowknot Like yours! To avoid obscurities: The lid is not a suncatcher. It's only recessed filled with transparent color. (because you should not look inside the box )
  19. Some days ago I was watching "Forrest Gump " on DVD with my girlfriend... and you all know that popular scene Tom Hanks saying And today I had an idea for a new Geocoin: It's the first draft I drawed last 2 hours.. still need some time to spend in it. May look like a little bit as "Anthus Laptop" Some fact from my head: 2" x 1,75" 7mm high transparent color on lid maybe 3 editions: pink for valentine... black/white for marriage and maybe colorful for birthday ... What do your think? Good idea or better stop wasting any time in it? Please post your feedback, doesn't matter if possitive or negative!
