  1. Too bad that it's a Monday because I have to work too. Bummer, because I'd love to show a homie around. (I grew up in San Diego and have family that live in Escondido and Vista)
  2. Yeah, who is that guy? Congratulations on 8000, Rey del Roble!!!!!!!
  3. Yeah, who is that guy? Congratulations on 8000, Rey del Roble!!!!!!!
  4. 1) Does this sound right based on traffic? Depending on your timing, this could vary from maybe if you're lucky... to no way in heck. 2) How long does the border crossing take? Is it a quick process or is it a 2-hour process? Again, timing and luck. Maybe you'll blow through, but be prepared for the two hour process or worse. Half-Canadian is a frequent border crosser and long distance driver. Hopefully she'll chime in on this topic.
  5. Congratulations to FunnyNose for finding #6000 today at Beacon on the Double in Maine!
  6. You will all be happy to know that I got a dry bag for Mother's Day. My new camera is safe.
  7. I'm sorry, but I find this topic very upsetting. With a conservative estimate of some 3-4 million pets euthanized in the US each year due to overpopulation and large mixed breed dogs suffering the unfortunate stigma of being statistically the least desirable of adoptable dogs, the odds are stacked against these puppies. Sure, they're cute now but most dogs that enter a shelter are between 6-18 months of age and you can bet every one of them was a "cute" puppy when it left its littermates. Please don't add to the problem - spay/neuter your dogs.
  8. Pyewacket has been playing games again...
  9. I ran 3 PQs at various times today and haven't received any of them yet. I'm a Comcast user too.
  10. I just called Iron Horse State Park for an update on the Snoqualmie tunnel. It is still closed due to heavy snow and they don't anticipate it opening until late JUNE. The Annette Lake Trailhead will be the only access to the A.P.E. cache until then. Needless to say, you should expect to encounter wet snow and a high volume of melt water flowing through the creeks.
  11. Throw an event. Trust me. What he said. Seriously. What's more, I'd love to see a South Sound WSGA Chapter formed. You folks should be more than just a small part of the Puget Sound Chapter. WSGA Chapters
  12. Like have a firm hold of something when you attempt to get out. Right? Yes, that and put your camera in a ziplock bag so you don't ruin it if you inadvertently go swimming.
  13. Paddle on left side to spin right Paddle on right side to spin left Paddle on alternate sides to go forward Paddle harder on left side to veer right Paddle harder on right side to veer left Stick the end of the paddle down in the water to stop. Stick the end of the paddle down on alternate sides if you want to stop straight. Paddle backwards if you want to back up Go over wakes and waves head on, not sideways. There's more stuff that's good to know, but those are the basics.
  14. I remember now what's wrong with the 21st - that's when the Missoula Cache Machine is. The 14th is the only day I can do.
  15. 14th is probably better for me, but might be able to make the 21st. I have a Mainstream Streak.
  16. Since the photo in Getaways is black and white and so small, here's the color photo she posted to the cache page. Nice photo, Annie!
  17. Way to go Cathy and I see a couple of your pals had a party waiting for you. That photo made me spit my drink all over my keyboard! Thanks for the good wishes, LR & H&S.
  18. Yikes! I did that cache at the end of September and it was already chilly then.
  19. Sounds like an incentive for you to plan and hold your first event...
  20. You might also want to contact MtnGoat50. He's the Spokane area representative for the Washington State Geocaching Association.
