  1. What does NA stand for? I've never seen that as an option to log a cache.
  2. We overshot many caches as the navigational compass hung repeatedly and gets stuck on a certain number and won't budge no matter how far you travel! Get out of the car and the compass says its 102 feet to the cache...walk 75 feet and the compass still reads 102 feet to the cache! Fortunately, I still had my offline list on Classic and we were able to find the caches using the "old" app. This has been my biggest issue with the new app so far. Is anyone else having trouble with it freezing up while using the compass?
  3. I just recently received a notification on itunes that my FTF Magazine subscription will not be automatically renewed. Is the magazine no longer publishing an electronic magazine, or is the magazine shutting down entirely?
  4. Mine was a combination from what I drive and the year I started geocaching.
  5. I like to leave unactivated geocoins as a FTF in my larger caches. For micro containers I leave a two dollar bill, you can get them at your local bank.
  6. I am embarking on a 12 day geocaching journey from Maine to Illinois. I am going to GC in 24 states that I don’t have a find, (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA, WV, SC, NC, AL, MI, WI, MS, KY, OH, GA, IN, & IL). If anyone has a recommended cache and/or a point of interest in these states, PLEASE let me know!
  7. I am wishing to purchase or trade for geocoins that represent every state. I do not care if they are dated, just that they are unactivated.
  8. Unfortunately it is just the times in which we live in. I know it stinks to have someone suspect you, and the police respond to it. but I would rather have the police react to a susipous call rather than ignore it. Explain to your daughter it is good you have concerned citizens. make it a positve experience, plus you won't have issues with the police there anymore because they know who you are now. that's a good thing
  9. Love the design. Think you are onto something
  10. I have been wanting to creat a couple of Geocoins for awhile now. Does anyone know of any reputable companies that dont have a large minimum order? Appreciate any help on this.
  11. I have had this happen to me before. If it is in an area where i would still like to place a cache, I use google earth and plug in the coords of the exsisting cache, then i use the measuring tool and span out .1 mile (your case 161 m) usually i can still find a suitable location for my cache.
  12. I hope you have permission from the property owner to bury that cache The property owner is me.
  13. I have a cache GC16QW6, where I posted this note at the end of its description: NOTE: In order to maintain the quality of this cache, please trade even or up. If you don't have anything to trade that you feel is equal, you are more than welcome to take something anyway. PLEASE NO PLASTIC TOYS.
  14. Computer illiterate here. Am try to upload images onto one of the threads, but when I click on the "Insert Image" icon it says "You must enter a URL" Help would be appreciated.
  15. It seems the ones who are FTF obsessed are the ones not getting them. Short of putting a sentry in front of your cache, it won't deter someone with a lot of FTF's under their belt from finding your cache. And if they find it first, well they found it first. Stripping someone of a title that is unrecognized by geocaching.com does nothing more than turn us on each other and make a new unrecognized title. FTRF (First To Really Find).
  16. My family went caching while on a Disney cruise. Dropped off several geocoins at one located on their private island Castaway Cay (GCB4C7).
  17. It would depend on the leavings of the animals in the area I am visiting. If the fecal matter is commonly full of bells and smells like pepper, then I am gonna opt for the firearms.
  18. I am a chemist and own a testing laboratory. Has allowed me a few "FTF" claims
  19. I recently had the same thing occur. It was a large cache container and did not have a writing instrument. I had to hike back to my car for a pen in order to sign the log. I will always bring and extra writing utensil with me from now on.
  20. I am planning to purchase a GPS unit for a graduation present. I currently use the garmin gpsmap 76csx and love it. I would like to find a less expensive unit that has the following similar features: 1. Electronic Compass 2. Capable of downloading waypoints. I would like to keep the cost around $100-$150 if possible. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
